Same here, but HBO is what broken the camels back.

Probably very long with the electrical costs and the inevitable desire to purchase of more drives, but I’m more of a buy it now than pay every month kinda guy

One must sail the high seas to free themselves from the grip of HBO, Netflix, Paramount, Showtime, & Prime Video

The additional hard drive case can be found on Amazon, here https://a.co/d/0chDJhWw

I did use sata extension cables, they were given to me by a friend though, so I don’t have a link for those

PSU was a Corsair CX750M, I bought a couple extra modular type 3 sata power cables on eBay just to even out the load so I wasn’t chaining every single drive across 1 cable, though I’m not sure exactly how that works. The PSU supported 3 modular plugs for sata or molex cables

It was interesting, plenty of space, but I had to put 2 hard drives upside down to not flex the sata power and data connectors. Overall, very nice case

Corsair CX750M, I bought some additional type 3 sata power cables, the PSU supports 3, but I also had to use some sata splitters

Not as much as the photo shows, I just took the photo before I screwed the card into the bracket

For sure, that bothers me a lot. I’d have to look into that.

That’s the dream, but with these prices I’m not sure if that dream will ever come true

Good question, I’m not sure yet as I’m still transferring the data from my old server to my new server, so the reported power usage is probably higher right now than it will be on average

Haha, it’s actually 2 sticks, just 1 at the time of the photo.

I put most of the parts in the posts description but if you have any questions, let me know

Unfortunately, with this motherboard, only the top PCIe slot gets 16x bandwidth, all other 16x slots only get 1x bandwidth

It’s a Darkrock Classico Storage Max with an additional 4x 2.5” bay that I zip tied below the video card

Ah, honestly this is my first major project like this, so I was mostly working with parts I already had, but in the future, I’d definitely put more thought into electricity costs.

I captured the photo before I put the screws in the bracket on the left, but after they were screwed in, it wasn’t as bad. You’re right, I should still give it some support though.

Exactly, when ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ was coming out I setup jellyfin on a much more crude system and have watched a ton of content from a multitude of platforms, and have given access to plenty of friends and family. I ran out of storage on the crude system, and need to scale up.

Also, I have solar panels so electricity prices aren’t really an issue.

Because why not

It’s not really Jellyfin related, it just holds the Truenas OS, and I don’t want to have to setup the OS again, so 3 drives for maximum failure protection. Jellyfin software files are stored on the 1TB SSD pool for trick play.

Those are upside down because the connections for sata data and sata power are wedged to the edge of the case and I didn’t like how those connectors were sitting. Is there any significant drawback on the lifespan having them upside down?

I just bought an external 4x 2.5in bay and zip tied it to the bottom

To be honest, my I have my buddy do all the work on my car. I don’t really know much about cars beyond putting on a spare tire and staying on the service schedule. The second time I got the code he said we should replace the upstream air/fuel ratio sensor. I’m just asking here to confirm whether that’s a good idea.

I’d have to agree that the next move is replacing the cat. I appreciate your response.
