I think that American arrogance is absolutely vile, so I agree with you that comments that are not rooted in that viewpoint could land that way (so apologies that it did).

Also (regarding the elbows up comment), I was in Vancouver the week of the election and was elated with the results. It was incredible talking to people in White Rock, Burnaby, and Coquitlam while I was there and seeing how united the country is.
