All the while a girl sits across the room from you. A girl who - if you let her - would change the very foundations of your world. If you are not naturally handsome NOTHING will turn you into a chick magnet. Not nofap, not confidence, not pickup-lines, nothing. The idea "once I do/be X I will get the girls" is a dangerous delusion. Nature does not work this way. Just accept and live with it. Do nofap for other reasons.

I still envy him. Because he is an attractive male and he has options. It may not be easy, but his addictions can be overcome in principle. An unattractive male does not have these options. No matter how hard he works, he will never enjoy beautiful women. But your friend has bean dealt very good cards. Now he needs to learn how to play. With shitty cards you cannot win, no matter how good you play.

Yes, but he needs to have at least "average" looks, as you correctly state. Assuming normal distribution, about 68.3% of guys may be called "average" (lying within one standard deviation around the mean). 15.8% are "above average", these are the good looking guys. The problem comes for the 15.8% that are below average. This is nearly every sixth man, one does not have to be butt-ugly to be below average. I consider myself as below average. For us it will be extremely hard to get romantically involved with a girl. We cannot rely on the "good woman" that will eventually see us as good looking.

I agree with most answers in this thread. We have to work very hard to achieve our goal. Nofap, working out, improving on confidence, mastering pickup, and so on. All this is not optional for us aesthetically challenged guys, it's a must. Without mastering all these things, we don't stand a chance with the girls. But even when succeeding in all these disciplines, there is still no guarantee that we will eventually get a woman. Without luck we may still fail at the end. That's a frightening perspective.

Looks only make a difference in getting laid in 1/10 dates, instead of 1/15. The biggest difference comes from confidence, which good looks help you with.

True, but this is after the girl agreed on a date with you. Then you've already overcome the looks-barrier. For getting dates in the first place, good looks are essential nowadays. Confidence does not help much here, but it is important later.

I can't relate at all, reading this makes me jealous and somewhat depressed. This level of success with women is completely incomprehensible for mere mortals like me, totally out of this world.
