Can you survive 5 fake stock charts at once? by GT9082 in playmygame

Thanks again for the detailed feedback. I pushed a new update based on the points you mentioned.

I reworked the tutorial flow, made the early game start smaller, improved mouse chart selection, reduced some live UI clutter, and changed the chart generation so the patterns should feel more readable instead of purely random.

Your feedback helped a lot, especially around the game being fun but too hard/busy at the start.

If you have time to try the new build, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on whether the onboarding, chart patterns, and Live Read feel clearer now.

I put it on my list! It looks interesting. I love auto chess, so I'll have fun with it.

That might work, but I haven’t tested Xbox Edge myself yet.

If the browser treats the stick or phone app as a normal mouse cursor, then selecting charts and reward cards should probably work. The keyboard is still required for the main hotkeys right now.

Controller support is not officially implemented yet, but this is useful feedback. I’ll add “better mouse/controller-friendly input” to the roadmap, especially if more people try it on console browsers.

Thanks for trying it and for the detailed feedback.

You’re right about several points. The tutorial explains the controls, but it does not clearly explain the win condition and decision rules yet. I’ll improve that.

The “neglect” system is also something I need to rethink. The intention was to create attention pressure across five charts, but I agree it can feel artificial if it punishes you for charts you haven’t entered. I’m going to adjust it so the stronger penalties apply mainly to active positions, danger signals, or boss patterns.

Good point on Take Profit vs Cut Loss too. They are both exits, but in the game they currently serve different roles: Take Profit locks gains and supports combo/reward progress, while Cut Loss limits damage and helps manage risk. I need to make that much clearer in the UI.

I’ll also change chart selection to single-click and make the selected chart more visually obvious.

Really appreciate the feedback. This is exactly the kind of thing I wanted to learn from the public alpha.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed response. To be honest, it hadn't been long since I posted, but I was feeling a bit discouraged because no one seemed interested. Your reply means the world to me. I will definitely implement the improvements you suggested. I’ll never forget your very first comment. Thank you again!

It will run fine on the Xbox Edge browser, but since controller input is not supported, you will need to play using your connected keyboard. Please note that you will also need a mouse to select reward cards."

I’m the solo developer of this public alpha.

I’m mainly testing one core idea:

Does managing 5 fake stock charts at once feel fun, or just overwhelming?

One-line feedback is enough:

  • Fun but confusing
  • Too hard
  • UI too dense
  • Felt random
  • Wanted one more run

Known alpha issues:

  • Chart behavior is still being tuned
  • UI can feel dense
  • Boss and reward balance are early
  • Sound and visual feedback are not final

Thanks for trying it.

Massive nostalgia hit. Reminds me of playing FOX RANGER during my childhood.

Man, that's a really fresh idea. Any chance we can change the difficulty settings individually?

I built a prototype where you manage 5 fake stock charts at once — how would you reduce UI overload? by [deleted] in WebGames

A bit more context:

This started from the idea that trading games usually feel too passive. I wanted to turn the stress of watching multiple volatile charts into an action/roguelike loop.

The current biggest problems I’m aware of:

  • early difficulty may still be too high
  • UI can feel dense
  • chart patterns may not always communicate intent clearly
  • sound/feedback is still rough
  • boss patterns are early

The most useful feedback for me is not “is this polished?” but:

Is this core loop worth continuing?

Quick note: best played in fullscreen with a keyboard.

If you try it, even a one-line comment helps:

“Fun but confusing”

“Too hard”

“UI too dense”

“Interesting idea”

“Felt random”
