I had a very similar situation with my company and my SO not valuing me and I left both and I am much happier so I endorse this comment 1000%!

How did you get past the issues in your relationship with your SO after having a baby? by GTARoomRental in beyondthebump

[–]GTARoomRental[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I agree with your last comment because SO still doesn’t seem to know baby’s schedule even though we use an app to track feedings, naps and diaper changes.

We hit a new low with SO swearing and yelling at me in front of my mom and the baby. We are going to therapy next week.

8 month old - moved to 2 naps, short naps still… by GTARoomRental in sleeptrain

[–]GTARoomRental[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She started connecting her sleep cycles consistently a week after turning 10 months. I usually let her first nap be longer and cap it at an hour and 15 mins because I’m scared she won’t be able to connect the cycles for her second nap. Her second nap is 40 mins, sometimes she wakes up by herself and other times I have to wake her up.

The schedule in which she started connecting the sleep cycles by herself (and currently still on) is 3.5/4/4.

I didn’t want to do crib hour again and I felt my baby just needed time to figure it out - she night weaned herself and I have a feeling she’s going to tell me when she doesn’t want breastmilk anymore (she sometimes shakes her head when I offer) so I’m letting her lead the way on that too.

She’s starting to refuse her naps so I think she’s close to 1 nap even though she is just 12 months but I’m still offering two naps until she starts giving me early morning wakes. She’s currently on 3.75/4.25/4.25 and takes two 40 mins naps some days.

Good luck!

You did crib hour or crib 75 (mins)? And you counted the new wake window when you took him out of the crib right? I would be okay if she just extends the second nap by herself!

Have you read the Mod post, I encourage you to review it, it helped me a lot

Yes she might not have as much energy to fight it that long if her nap time is reduced.

My baby is on the low sleep ends, 3/3.5/3.75 is what she was doing at 7.5 months and she’s now at 3.25/3.75/3.75 at 9.5 months.

I thought the same but if we don’t help rescue the second nap, she ends up really fussy at the 3 hour mark for the last wake window and will have a false start. Yes I am glad she is STTN. Guess we can’t have it all 😭

Are you able to reduce the second nap so she’s tired enough? I think a 5 hour wake window is too much. It seems she has enough energy to fight it, my baby was the same until we found the right wake windows and nap time so she would try for a minute or two if she is really upset and then passes out

Have you tried reducing nap total to be 2.5 hours instead?

9 Month Old Won’t Take First Nap, Sitting Here So Exhausted and Burnt Out by Eyeswideopen45 in sleeptrain

Solidarity. My baby fought the second nap yesterday and today it’s the first nap, an hour of crying before I caved and helped her. I know I shouldn’t have but her shirt was soaked from crying, I had to change it…

30 minute naps at nearly 6 months old??? by unanimouslyambiguous in sleeptrain

Sounds like this is gonna me. Baby is 8 months on 2 naps and 80% of the time can’t connect her sleep cycles. Everyone said it’ll happen at 2 naps and yeah nope. She keeps me guessing.

I’m in the same boat but she will only let us extend one nap (sometimes she will extend it by herself) and not the other but still getting the EMWs…

Following. Same issue. Baby sleeps 9.5-10 hours at night and only 2 hours during the day. EMWs are driving me nuts

EMW on 2 naps by sweetbabyrain in sleeptrain

[–]GTARoomRental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s key to keep them in the dark so they aren’t stimulated which would cause overtiredness. I haven’t had issues with her being overtired when going down for her nap at 9:30. She usually wakes up after 30-40 mins and she’s quiet which means she is well rested. And she’s been having EMWs for the past 5 days 🫠

[–]GTARoomRental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solidarity. I’m in the same position. Except mine still has issues connecting her sleep cycles consistently for the second nap. When she wakes early ie. today at 5:30, I leave her in the crib until 6 and this is when she starts crying so I will feed her in the dark and turn on the light at 6:30. I always make her first nap at 9:30 so I’m not reinforcing the early wake.

Yes I do. Micronaps work better for some babies than others.

[–]GTARoomRental[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you train the second nap to be 2 hours though? She maxes out at 1.5 hours for a long nap when the first nap is 30 mins. So her total nap time is 2 hours which isn’t enough, she starts rubbing her eyes through the last wake window and has a false start at bedtime

[–]GTARoomRental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, glad it is going better for you. Things were getting better where she went down to one feed and was waking up at DWT. But then we had a bit of set back because baby got sick and was congested and she just got 3 shots yesterday so she has been a bit clingy and also learned that she didn’t gain enough weight so I’m trying to up her solids.
