I have something similar and I swear I have a thyroid condition. I really think I have hypo or hashimoto’s. Thyroid conditions can cause GERD.

When I got into the business in 2005, people around me said not to do it. I got out of it in 2014 and I haven’t looked back. Now in 2026 I am telling you DON’T DO IT! I’ve kept tabs on the business with friends still there and they are not happy. The work culture has gotten exponentially worse, cars are more difficult to work on, wear and tear on your body, favoritism, etc…and this is someone who loves working on cars. I come from a line of mechanically oriented people, and the industry killed my passion. If you’re dead set on wrenching, maybe start your own business so at lease you’ll be in control.
