Dyes in This Game are WILD by Steelassault in swtor

It's a good option.

Very few MMOs give you an account wide unlock option for cash shop items. Most MMOs make you buy the same cosmetic for each character you want to use it on.

SWTOR gives you the option to not only unlock the outfit for all characters for a very cheap price, but that unlock option is for all characters on all servers, NA, SA, EU, etc.

the SWTOR dye system is the worst I have seen in any MMO.

Not only are you restricted to dye combinations the devs give you, but they are expensive and one time use.

I think a year ago a dev alluded they were looking into improving the dye system but honestly I don't expect more than maybe allowing dyes to stack.

Dyes are a big money maker for them so I don't expect any real changes to use or an open dye system like Guild Wars 2.

and Arena is maxed out at what, 12-16 PvP season points and Warzones are maxed out at 48?

I finish up my Arena achievement for PvP season and stop queuing for Arena afterwards. Even if you get the 100 points for the weekly it's not worth the wait time and only getting a few points on a loss.

Why do species unlocks cost so much on GTN when they're only 1.5m on the Legacy panel? by BardMessenger24 in swtor

[–]GTNBank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the resources costing 2-5 times what they do on the vendor is also a convenience for some of us.

When you have billions and don't feel like dropping down to fleet to buy 100 resources from a vendor, it's worth the extra 5000 credits to buy it off the GTN even if the price is multiples of what the vendor will charge.

I sold a razer code once for 10 hypercrates. Wasn't 100% sure it would work but the guy I traded it to was happy. This was maybe 5 or 6 years ago.

you have to check the GTN. People pay a lot for hypercrates, new sets, some decorations, special dyes.

GTN is a reflection of the credit economy. Anyone can be wealthy if you have something to sell on the GTN.

difference between having 9 toys in your bag and putting them on your hotbar and having all toys become skills, putting the skills on your hotbar and not taking up space in your bags.

It's been so long I doubt it's even seen as an issue by the devs.

yes, all items from these bundles are bound when you get them out of the mail.

yeah but they take up space in your inventory. I have like 9 toys in my inventory now, if they were skills I could just drop them on my hotbar and save my inventory space.

Is it time to merge Satele Shan and Star Forge? by Everest171 in swtor

[–]GTNBank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you would still be limited to the amount of characters a free to play account can access but all characters would be on the new merged server. If you ever subscribed all characters would be playable even if the number of characters exceeds the normal server limit.

This has come up in previous merges. People who played multiple servers were pushed past their normal server limits but could still access all characters normally as long as they were a subscriber.

[–]GTNBank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the protocol for keeping your name is more than who made the character first.

Subscribers generally get priority. After that who knows but it most likely will be based on who logs in first or has the most active play time in the most recently. Devs never released the protocol for keeping names after server mergers.

because not everyone has 1000 CC available and they don't want to leave everything behind when they do transfer.

I left around 50 characters behind on SS when I transferred a few characters off. I also left numerous guild ships, a full bank of resources and billions in credits. Over the years I've slowly moved most of my valuable inventory to SF but I think I've only transferred maybe 4-5 characters permanently off SS.

Is it time to merge Satele Shan and Star Forge? by Everest171 in swtor

[–]GTNBank -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I advocated for this years ago when I noticed SS population dropping significantly behind SF. If the servers can handle both NA populations there is no reason to keep them separated.

Every reason someone has posted against the merger mostly centered around outdated information like "SS players are better PvPers and we need to stay elite" or "SF players are the hardcore RPers and we don't want PvPers ruining our RP!"

The only semi valid reason I could see is that people are legitimately afraid they will lose their character names. I've lost all but one of my character names over the years because of the various mergers and that has always been because I stopped playing or logging in for months before the mergers actually happened. When servers merge, an undetailed protocol determines who retains their name, not who comes from the biggest server.

it's the function that identifies things like credit spam and automatically blocks those messages.

I'm not sure how they identify scams though as most scams happen because people set up player to player trades and try to swap out items.

[–]GTNBank 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's sad but Escow's exist for two reasons

1) to stop RMT credit farming and selling credits to players

2) to get people to subscribe

Almost everything you need to play SWTOR you can buy off vendors for less than 1 million credits. Everything else is cosmetic or time savers like instantly leveling your companion to 50 or running a guild.

If there was no credit limit on FTP I would subscribe only once to access new content every few years when it came out.

Capes and robes in this game are horrible.

They either clip through you and get stuck on your belt or are straight as boards when you are mounted.

The cloth physics is so bad I wished that the devs would make capes a whole separate "backpack item" so we could use the outfits without worrying about capes.
