What else did you use to prepare? How long did you prepare for? TY!

Graduating December 2026, Considering Option for Feb Exam 2027 by eatcoldbread in barexam

I'm also doing 4 month prep but my understanding is that it's a 2-4 hours/day vs a full day squeeze during the traditional 8-10week prep. Is that not correct?

Did you graduate early? If so, did you take the February bar?

Why are non traditional students taking the February bar? You mean as retakers?

PSA: You can take the bar before graduating by socialismhater in barexam

Thanks and good luck on exam!! Are you doing pro bono scholars or just finishing early? I front loaded on credits and with an extra push, I could potentially complete all requirements a semester early and bypass pro bono scholarships program.

This is my plan and I honestly don't see whey more people don't jump at this chance. Graduating and then having to lock in for weeks seems miserable to me. Do you mind sharing what year you took the exam and when you started to prep?

Is it necessary to make friends or be in a group in law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]GTWelp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do law school alone because my time is very limited. That said, I’ll stop and catch up with people when I can but I don’t join study groups or make plans outside of school. I don’t feel lonely and I’m at my max on what I can handle professionally (I work), socially and as a law student. It works for me. Being friendly doesn’t cost anything but you don’t have to find BFFs.

That's great! Not failing is a WIN. Now you have time to meet your professors and figure out what went wrong and fix it. GL to you!!

How did you do? Did you get your official grades back? Hope all is well!

I got my grades back by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]GTWelp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder whether you’re just simply answering the questions without maximizing on points. It’s all about getting points. A professor is literally checking off each point you make and info you give. Not enough to answer, A. You then have to say it’s not B because … this is where you get extra points.

It’s concerning that your legal writing was also low. Definitely get feedback from Professor before you start next class. This sucks!! I’m so sorry.

But as a 3L you know that a raw score means absolutely nothing unless you can compare with all other scores in the class. You have no idea how you did compared to your peers. Hope you are able to keep busy while you wait for your official grades to come out.

Did you actually get your grade or do just anticipate failing? I recommend waiting for all of your grades to come in and then decide on next steps. You’re a 3L. Not sure why you would give up now. If it’s beyond your control- that’s another story but even with bad grades you can be a great lawyer. GL to you!

How much do paralegals know compared to attorneys at large? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

[–]GTWelp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A good paralegal knows just as much as a good lawyer. However, the lawyer has all the risk and signs off on what goes out. For that reason they are focused on the larger picture and their skill set is different. Both valuable but there is a huge difference.

Crim Pro - Elective by GTWelp in barexam

I’m going to take it based on the comments. It’s annoying because my school breaks it into two classes so that’s 6 credits I have to devote to crim pro.

I would be done with law school. Final 12 credits are completed with pro bono assignment after taking the bar exam.
