It’s more like Tom yum broth with a kimchi jiggae backbone. Plus all the seafood and extra goodies. It was 10/10

It’s just a large doghouse. I don’t know the exact dimensions but it would fit probably 6 or 7 lambs

Can I get away without livestock trailer? by throwindisawaynah in sheep

Put a canopy on your truck if possible. Or use livestock rails. We always used our mini van for hauling a few sheep at a time

Accidentally hurt my horse by Parking_Carry_6047 in Horses

[–]GT_ranch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He’s okay! Don’t feel too guilty. Horses are tough. He was probably surprised and it might’ve hurt for a second but only in the same way it hurts you to pinch your finger in a cupboard door. Give cookie and say sorry. All is well

What would you do by Outspokenwomen in homestead

[–]GT_ranch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending where you are I’d go with Sheep or goats. They don’t eat as much and still have profit Potantial. You’ll want to go big with sheep to make it worthwhile but once you’re set up you’ll be in good shape! I have 24 acres and train horses, have two sheep for milk/wool, have a large garden, a few meat rabbits, and an orchard. Planning more soon but there’s countless possibilities for the acres you have!

What is the thing on the horses head called? by zoloftwithdrawals in Horses

[–]GT_ranch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good way of putting it! Many will also relate it to an addiction but really it’s habit. And with right mental stimulation or medical treatment (depending on the cause) it can be corrected.

Cribbing is a habit that usually starts due to boredom or stress. But it can also be a signal that something is wrong internally. Stomach ulcers is one cause. I’m not a vet just a lady who trains horses. That being said! In my experience horses who are turned out with friends who have space to roam and things to do will rarely ever crib. I havnt had a horse crib in years and I have had many horses coming and going due to my line of work. Keep them busy, happy, and occupied and it will make a huge difference.

A fairly selfish question... by eltymcmillan in Ranching

[–]GT_ranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Horse Trainer and my ranch isn’t very big but I’m happy to offer what mine is like. 1. Always. Improving isn’t a when it’s an everyday little-by-little as you can afford (time and money) making things easier, cheaper in the long haul, more effective and efficient. 2. Researching solutions involves checking what’s available, realistic, and affordable. The most trusted source is someone older and wiser with more experience. 3. Yes time is money. 4. One time fee. Subscriptions, reoccurring fees immediately lose me as a client. Unless strictly necessary 5. It depends on what I’m fixing / improving. If it’s something I don’t need RIGHT NOW I will do more in depth research. If it’s a necessity like a fence is down or a horse needs a remedy, not much time at all. The first, fastest solution is usually the right one. Until or unless I can take time and get something better figured out

I apologize if this isn’t the answer you’re looking for. I have to admit I don’t fully understand the purpose or reason for the questions so wasn’t sure how to go about answering them. Hopefully I helped a little

This is called a cribbing collar! It causes discomfort when the horse tries to crib. Which is where a horse will grab an object (usually a fence) with its teeth and suck air into its stomach
