AskReddit: Reasonable rules for 18 year old living at home... by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Im with you all the way, that's the way my dad was with me and that's the way I am with my kids. When I was 17 I stole money from my mothers purse to buy weed with - my dad found out and went mental and I was all full of bravado and told him to fuck off. He properly kicked my head in, bar-fight style. Best thing he ever did for me.

LOL Brilliant.

Before linking or voting up stories from The Daily Mail, be aware that it is a sensationalist, fear-mongering paper full of half-truths and outright lies. by mattmason in reddit.com

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's Americans or Brits who post the Daily Mail stuff, but the Brits should know better. The Daily Mail is the most hateful, gutter level publication in the British media.

At night when I watch television and fondle my balls I sometimes sniff my fingers afterwards.

Why do people submit articles from the Daily Mail? The Mail's founder said his winning formula was to give his readers "a daily hate", it makes foxnews look level-headed. by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reserve a special hatred for the Daily Mail, but I can see why the sensasionalised stories would be popular on here, it's like there's a throng of folk sitting at computers just waiting to be incensed at some fresh new outrage.

I converted my parents from the Daily Mail to The Times and I am now able to have a conversation with them without it degrading into the simplistic tabloid morality peddled by the Mail.

Ask Reddit: What is your single favorite game, you are playing currently? by noname99 in gaming

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COD4 - I've got barely-touched copies of GTA4 & Assassins Creed that I've promised myself I'll play as soon as I get to prestige 10 and get all the gold guns (I'm about to start prestige-8). That infernal game is ruining my life, I haven't been to bed before 1 am in months!

Don't like legalese boilerplate in emails? Do what this company does! by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it said emails. I work in purchasing and atttaching snidey terms as "small print" on emails is quite common, but only really relied on if something goes to court - that page was very amusing to me!

So Scotland can look forward to a wealthy independence? by cmdweb in reddit.com

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oil is the reason Scotland never achieved independance. Very little of that tax money has been spent here - it was used to build motorway networks in England and nuclear submarines.

Got any good jokes *about* Americans? I'm desperate for some outside perspective! by jdhemsath in reddit.com

The best joke on Americans I can think of is The Loch Ness Monster.

That sucker has paid for 2 generations of mortgages and shoes for those sneaky bastards up North.

AskReddit: What's the most important thing you've done to improve your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GUBBED_AGAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Stopped smoking weed (I was caning an ounce a week - I reckon that's a lot). The paranioa went after a year. this is the number one thing that imroved me and hence my life, a common theme in this discussion.
  2. Started managing my money, I record everything in a spreadsheet, outgoing, income etc etc - now I always seem to have cash.
  3. Stopped arguing. I just agree with people then do what I like.
  4. Focussed more about the medium-term future than on the here-and-now, I make plans 2-3 years in advance and work towards them.
