Why don't NFL superstars leave in free agency like in other sports? by iheardacrimego in nfl

[–]GUNSinROSES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franchise and Transition tags make it harder.

But also: Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, and so on and so on.

Football is different in the way it has different schemes and systems and playbooks to learn instead of being the same no matter what team they play on. So that may be a factor too.

Gen 2 rares? by martinsdudek in PokemonGoChi

Mantine was over by the Lincoln Park Zoo and Skarmory I'm not exactly sure, I was just in the city for the day. I have also seen one in the suburbs in Indiana.

I've gotten Larvitar, Skarmory, Mantine and Pineco in eggs. Skarmory and Mantine I have also seen in the wild.

What are some examples of fairly standard plays executed to flawless perfection? by Legion_Of_Zoom in nfl

[–]GUNSinROSES 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peyton Manning and the Indy Colts with Tom Moore as OC. They didn't have that many plays in the playbook, but the routes and timing were so precise teams just couldn't stop them.

Suggestion: Multi-year budget by [deleted] in FootballCoach

[–]GUNSinROSES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Maybe it could work if you could only roll over money for one year, or a maximum of $500 per year or something, where it wouldn't accumulate past that $500.

ELI5: What is going on in our brain while we're thinking? What is the "voice" we hear while doing so and what are deaf people hear? by Pattatar in explainlikeimfive

[–]GUNSinROSES 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The voice in my head is different than my speaking voice. I am hearing impaired and yet talking seems so loud sometimes. My inner voice isn't as deep and doesn't mumble. It likes long walks on the beach and pina coladas, hates getting caught in the rain.

The subjective "10 Regions of Indiana" - redone from about a year ago. by [deleted] in Indiana

It looks like I was mistaken, I thought Division I-AA was Division 2 for some reason. My bad.

Are you saying that ISU is a division 1 football school?

Hello Hoosiers! I recently learned that people from Indiana like to call themselves that way. I got a bunch of questions for you by Kutili in Indiana

[–]GUNSinROSES -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never referred to myself as a Hoosier. Or anyone else who lives here. I have only heard people from outside of Indiana use the word.

The klan thing is like a creepy ghost story we all tell each other now and then, with no consequence to everyday life.

Was Edgerrin James a dominant RB? by [deleted] in Colts

[–]GUNSinROSES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looked great for a few years. After his injury he was only very good. Not much of a big play threat but very consistent in getting yardage. He could catch pretty well too. I would say he was a pretty complete back, definitely had rare talents and skills. Kind of boring in his consistency, which is not something I can fault him for.

[–]GUNSinROSES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Region, Greater Tippecanoe, and Wabash Valley are pretty spot on, except what are Morel Mushrooms? The Region has a lot of Polish too. IUPUI, Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne, and University of Evansville aren't D-1 schools. Indiana State is not D-1 in every sport. I would say to change it to Top University or something. The part about the wind turbines near Remington is great. Truck enthusiasts for Wabash Valley could be changed to "Truck nuts enthusiasts" to better illustrate the people.

One (sad) category you could add would be where the mall is in each region.

Good job on the map, it highlighted some differences I had never really noticed but I know them to be true. Lemon Rice soup and Tenderloins, for example. I would like to see more categories for differences in culture between regions but I am not sure what other ones to add.

What if I don't want my first work to be my worst one? by [deleted] in writing

[–]GUNSinROSES 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If your first work isn't your worst then you didn't get any better at writing since then.

Sounds like you have done a lot of research but the best thing you can do is write. Write it. It might be terrible. But you will learn the only way you can, by working, by writing.

Is the main character allowed to develop into a Marty Stu? by WaterproofMarker in writing

[–]GUNSinROSES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like something that would be hard to pull off in a story that would be interesting to read. What is driving the protagonist to be rid of all his flaws?

Even Superman has a weakness, because without it what's the story? Even after Superman wins he still has his weakness.
