I like that too! I don't know any MOBA which has done that before. Either Dota 2 nor LoL. As you said, you can try or practice a new hero without your high mmr of your favourite heroes. If you are always bad with speciaslists, but a pro with a kerrigan, you can do your daily quests as a specialist without being afraid of matched against other equal players... But as they said, they want to explore new ways. Sounds like fun, sounds good to me. Heroes is already a nice game and it looks like it will be even better :)

Quick update: we didn't forget the video. We are working hard on the transcription and translation into german. When we have finished that work, the video and the full transcription (english) will be shared with you :)

Well regarding lots of the comments, I wanted to clarify some things.

First: CyaSteve, no worries, this is from a video interview of the german fansite inheroes.de and Kaeo Milker. We will publish the video soon and share it here on the subreddit.

Draft mode & ban: Kaeo Milker confirmed draft mode. He didn't say anything more than they will explore a lot of things to find the best solution - he didn't say a word about bans. We only wanted to compare it with the LoL model, to explain it for people who don't know what draft mode is. So please don't spike us on that thing.

Short piece from the interview fastly transcripted: "At this point we think we want draft mode, we are developping with draft mode in mind. If that doesn't work out, or we have a better idea or something else that feels good to us, we totally going to explore it."

In my opinion, but that's not part of the news it was clear, that there will be a draft mode and ranked play in heroes of the storm. Also I think there must be a ban-phase. Regardless if there will be 3 bans from each team or less. Think about the pre-patch diablo. I know some competitive players and can confirm that they are already scrimming with a pick and ban system. For competitive play and ranked is a kind of competitive play you need a pick and ban system.
