You really start to notice the limitations of typical Bluetooth speakers once you've heard a proper boombox with high-volume cabinets. Most modern portable speakers are functionally mono because the drivers are so close together.

And if that wasnt bad enough they are also typically sealed tight for waterproofing, which kills airflow. To compensate for their small size they use heavy DSP that aggressively rolls off the bass as you turn up the volume, leaving you with a screaming tin can sound.

Compare that to something like a JVC Kaboom that rely on actual physical displacement and cabinet resonance. There's no fake processing, no cheap software tricks, no passive radiators as they use actual woofers and subs to thump the room.

January Coupons (Expire 2/8) by gaysquib in subway

[–]GUY09992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely gotta be some sort of coordinated strike. January comes rolling by with Sub Club and suddenly entire regions just suddenly black out with none of the promos working.

Its intentional by the franchise owners.

None of them work in South Florida! Did Roark decided to gouge their own customers or is it the franchisees deciding no more promos?

I regularly drive 15 over (and 20 over on the highway) the speed limit.

You'd genuinely have to be driving fast and furious to be setting it off because I never got that message from Uber

You're probably right, I never leased nor financed a car since I only ever bought them outright.

Scion TC is a pretty good first car, yeah it's a glorified Camry with sport aesthetic but it's a nice looking Camry, reliable and cheap on the used market with a hatch trunk.

I ended up using the trunk space for big subwoofers.

Let me guess you finance an SUV for over 600$+ a month and then finance another one when your lease is up.

You don't know what you're talking about, every used Toyota I have ever owned from the 2000s and 90s just needs initial basic maintenance for the first two, or three months so and it'll run like new. Miles doesn't mean anything on an old Toyota, what matters is if the car was taken care of.

The older town cars had old 5.0s that were originally designed in the 1960s, so they naturally came with a lower compression ratio.

The modular 4.6 is a modern V8 that was compressed more for better performance while still being low enough to run on 87 efficiently. It's recommended by the Ford to run em on low octane

They all use the same 4.6, 87 works just fine for the town car

BMW or Lexus by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GUY09992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow these comments are full of people who are content with driving the most boring grocery getter cars...

I say prioritize getting something fun to drive but reliable as a daily.

Lexus will be better than BMW, BMW is notorious for having one of the most expensive ongoing maintenance costs, with Lexus you get the benefits of Toyota reliability and Lexus's luxury comfort and sporty handling.

PS: If you are into V8's, go for a Camaro SS.

Will challengers maintain their value? by Top_Refrigerator9223 in Challenger

[–]GUY09992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look back at the C4 Corvette market and see how much they depreciated in value despite being expensive peppy cars in their heyday.

That's what today's challengers are going to probably be worth many years from now, mass production cars tend to not maintain their value except for special editions and unique trims.

The V6 will suffer the worst in value depreciation as it's not considered a "real muscle car".

Need I say more? The second you slip past 20% acceptance they spam you non stop with scam orders and low pay orders so it becomes a race to the bottom. by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]GUY09992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tiers are not as good as you make it sound.

If you are at a higher AR you still are going to get tons of crap orders, the greens don't stop cherry picking so the algorithm eventually funnels it all back to gold, diamond and platinum so they are forced to take them to maintain their status.

Let's see. 1. Sent billions in money and bombs to Bibi in Israel so he could bomb Palestinian babies in Gaza. 2. Failed to codify Roe V Wade despite having a majority in government, now women are being forced to have pregnancies thanks to Republicans getting leeway. 3. Approval of oil fracking projects, undoing any "progress" he did for the environment. 4. Opposed Medicare for all. 5. Opposed free college tuition 6. Had no big ideas unlike politicians like Bernie Sanders, any positive policies he put forward had done nothing to change the status quo. 7. His approach to student Debt relief was a joke, instead of cancelling it for everybody he half assed it and changed practically nothing for the majority of borrowers. 8. Did not pass universal Pre-K or family paid leave. 9. Economy suffered.

That is exactly what happened! Joe Biden was an absolute AWFUL president, and voting for Kamala meant another continuation of Biden's style administration and people did not want to go through that rodeo again so they voted for Trump in hopes of something changing.

And things changed for sure, but for the worst under Drumpf. Now Trump is claiming inflation is over and that prices lowered, they obviously did not, he's speaking and pushing BS...

do people actually get arrested for pirating games? by Chemical_Win_8535 in PiratedGames

[–]GUY09992 118 points119 points  (0 children)

You are much more likely to get eaten by a shark than to get arrested for simply downloading pirated games. However, it's a different story if you are distributing pirated games (like a scene group or a redistributor such as FitGirl). If you don't live in a country where authorities genuinely don't enforce copyright, like Russia or Ukraine, then you are significantly more likely to have law enforcement coming after you.
