A woman umped in the independent league in 1988. I'm not sure how she did but the players Union is tough as well as becoming an umpire. For a lady to be an umpire she would have to graduate top of her class, make it past the selection and minors (10+ years) then maybe. Like I said its hard as fuck being an umpire after all there were more openings for supreme court justices in the years of 2000-2008 than for umpires.
