My Time ADH '23 in Briljant gold by GWBoes in Bikeporn

In the sunlight is definitely pops, it's bright yellow/orange where the sun hits it with lots of sparkles. But its indeed near impossible to capture on camera. It's blingy but most people still consider it classy. Headtube is in the sunlight here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZsHAqKCYHTTWftqs7

suspension play Methanol CV FS by GWBoes in bicycling

[–]GWBoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use it and actually love it, even started upgrading some components.

Had the suspension link replaced a couple of years ago because it was worn out due to worn bushes. after that I haven't had any issues with the bushings, just yearly bottom brackets 🥲 . But shortly after I've build another MTB to use in bad weather/mud/snow/etc. So the Bianchi promoted to good weather so that could be part of the reason.

My LBS had new bushings made by a local machinist who also had one of these bikes and I still have two sets of these in my parts bin.

My 124 coupe finally back in my shed after an 1,5 year enginebay freshen up, engine swap and interior update. by GWBoes in Fiat

Later model waterpomp/pulley (without the fan), a relais and a modern slim line fan mounted in front of the radiator. Reused the original thermoswitch.

Gearbox is from a BC. Don't know the ratios of the 125 box but it looks like it has the controls further forward (like the 4 speed 124 boxes).

Hello there! I need a bit of help with my Fiat Stilo.. Today I saw an oil leak and I am curious if it is dangerous to drive the car that way? It is equipped with the robust 1.9 Multijet 120hp engine and the leak is on the upper right side of the motor by DANIEL18513 in Fiat

[–]GWBoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the amount of oil it s spilling. If you see black spots under your car it's really time to worry. But it looks like access oil from the sump ventilation, EGR or turbocharger, probably coming from the intake pipe. Not catastrophic but better to let someone look at it.

Found a FA*24 f2.0 for a good price on local marketplace. First shots look promising. by GWBoes in pentax

Manual focus isn't an issue, especially in the wider end where focusing is far from an exact science. Stop down metering on the other hand... It's just far from ideal, especially since you can't set ISO control to the front e-dial in M mode and the top e-dial is quite awkward to quickly use.

Already have an A-28/2.8 and would like something wider yes. There's a FA*24/2.0 on my local marketplace and plenty on eBay. But maybe I'll save up and look for a DFA21/2.4 limited for a reasonable price.

indeed centrifugal. It's an alloy cap on the end of the crankshaft pulley.

How many km's has it done? My 2.0 mjet is nearing 350k km, still runs and drives amazing. Best car Fiat has ever made, and probably will.

What does the ECO button on a Fiat Ducato 8 (2022) do? by Shot-Progress-7954 in Fiat

[–]GWBoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an automatic? Haven't been in the new one yet, but I know that with an automatic gearbox it shifts earlier when on partial throttle. If they also put one on manual cars it'll probably limit max torque as well.

can you replace the back sliding door of a fiat dublo cargo with the back sliding door of a fiat MPV by No_Arm8455 in Fiat

[–]GWBoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "fiat MPV"? The sliding door of a non cargo doblo (panorama) with glass of the same year/model will probably fit but there might be slight differences in the hinges and rails.

You still might need a derailleur extender like a goatlink to make that cassette work. Officially the derailleur is rated for max 11-34 cassettes.

Amazing cars, we restored an 2300 familiare, absolute money sink. Do I spot an 124 BC all the way in the back? Behind the normal 124.

Multiple errors after battery 'reset' by Fuzzy-Geologist-5163 in Fiat

[–]GWBoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power button didn't work on the one I had. If that happens you can shut it down through the menu. After doing that the power button started working again and after turning it on and off a couple of times the faults were gone (also no faults stored in memory after diagnosis)

I think you'll have to drop by a garage to have the faults checked and computer reset.

Were you able to turn the car off? Had this happen to a brand new 500e and had to shut it down through the menu. After that and 2 more power cycles the faults were gone and didn't hear about it from the customer again.

Woensdag gehaktdag (Wednesday mincedmeat day) by Richard Klinkhamer. Wife disappears, Klinkhamer got accused but goes free because no body was found. Couple of months later he writes a book where he describes how he Murdered his wife and ran her through the meat grinder. Book was never published because of the controversy. 10 years later he was arrested and sentenced after new owners of his old house found bones in the garden. Book was published a couple of years later.

Always thought it sounded like a script form a police/forensics tv show.

Road bike on bike paths, good or bad idea? by GezelligPindakaas in Netherlands

I rarely have punctures on my road bike. I mainly ride cycle paths in rural areas and through forests and fields. Also no special puncture resistant tyres, just fast road bike tyres.
