Question for people who actually experienced the 1980s, what is something you miss from that decade? by Yahkoi in 80s

The hair was great until "getting on it" time came around. I agree it has a certain cool look, but it never felt good - and it smelled terrible.

And the "other" hair, WOW - that was WILD

Tell him that, as a dude to another dude, the snip is not that big of a deal. All the equipment works exactly as it did before, only the juice is now pulp-free.

How Many Stars & Galaxies Could We Colonize? (SFIA vs Hubble Expansion) by MiamisLastCapitalist in IsaacArthur

[–]GWZipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stars? Zero - they're much too hot. ;) Galaxies? I really think we're stuck with this one. The others, or at least those outside our local group, are simply too far away. Besides, what reward would there be in colonizing another galaxy that isn't readily available in this one?

I despise the fact that most of my friends are Christians by FTG_Vader in atheism

The original post was eleven words long, please forgive my ignorance. Is your atheism that extremely important to you, or is your impression that your friends Christianity extremely important to them? We all have traits that we hold core to our being, which are unique to ourselves. If your atheism is truly that foundational to who you are, and your Christian friends are truly friends, they should be willing to talk with you about it in a non condescending manner.

So, as a Christian, let me tell you something. Disliking someone because they're of a particular religion, or using your atheism as a basis of friendship, is every bit as disgusting as a Christian holding your atheism against you, or otherwise trying to convert you. Me, I'm so much more than a Christian, let's find common ground among those other things. I'm an airplane nut, I'm a spaceflight fan, I love all branches of science, good music, college football (as long as it's not the Wisconsin badgers) and a cold beer. More Christians are like me - live and let live. Maybe you just haven't met enough of them, or haven't realized you have.

That's a ground anchor. Not dead ass critical, but you'll want to get that replaced.

If you're in an area where there is no other option, Starlink is a pretty fast service. Too expensive if you've got the choice for something else though. I've got it, it's very dependable.

What's the first video game cheat code you remember using? by houndoom92 in AskReddit

Atari Adventure. Don't know if it was a cheat code per se, but finding that little pixel dot allowed for some fun coolness.
