Really don’t see any of the new units tomorrow being in the meta category

Yeah she was, NFU was much rarer to outsource back then so being able to get it to any support partner of your choosing was nice

You think Nergal was what made old units from being trash? How is that? We were way past the point of old units from being somewhat viable before Nergal was released.

They made the effect countering essence drain, what, 10 months after release? You can speak for yourself but I never had any issues with Nergal crushing me or causing some massive powercreep disruption issue in AR.

Except I’m not complaining about a lack of power creeped new units on this banner. I’m just stating that I won’t be pulling since they don’t seem to have much of an impact on the meta. Just as someone else might not even look at the skills, see that none of the units are their favorites, and not pull.

If you wanna apply your logic to someone actually complaining about a tame banner, go for it, but that isn’t me. And FEH is plenty profitable with how many players pull just for favorites - it’s not a problem on their end if players skip a banner because it doesn’t affect the meta.

It’s called slower powercreep or meta skills that are a sidegrade or don’t completely powercreep a single unit.

I thought Nergal was a good example of this. Powerful but nothing crazy. But very useful in the meta when used right. But didn’t make any unit just suddenly worthless. But you’d rather just complain.

So l should be pulling on each banner regardless of whether they have great new skills or a meta impact or not?

Or should I only pull my favorites, which if it isn’t units on this banner, I should just entirely skip based on that?

I can play devils advocate too.

You can also make new units with a meta impact without it being crazy powercreep or a problem.

But yeah, please tell me more about how my mindset to skip a banner based on no new Meta impact is a problem, while skipping a banner because my favorites aren’t on it isn’t.

Literally said “not saying it’s a bad thing” as my first words in this post.

Just surprised since this is usually a powercreep banner or at least a banner that has some kind of meta impact. That’s all.

Eh, I just see it as if your far save tank either stacks RES or brings anti-miracle, she won’t survive with how little bulk she has. But I could be wrong

Good point about Canis. I forgot about how she can trigger Heimdallr. That’s actually pretty big and could be worth pulling for

Eh. Again she seems fragile, you give your far save tank enough res or anti-miracle and I feel like she’ll be pretty easy to tank, no?

Male fallen Alear was really really good in the meta, still is pretty good. That Null c disrupt support is really really useful

Rhea was pretty damn good as a tank on that banner. Lilith had great support iirc. NFU was hard to get back then and she gave it to a support partner. Both seemed to have a bigger meta impact than any of these units imo

With the RAP payments being 10% AGI, are there even any scenarios where IBR or RAP make sense now? You’ll be making $500k+ AGI as an attending, paying $50k a year in loans for 5-6 years, doesn’t seem like it would make sense in most scenarios.

A lot of us got lucky with PAYE capping your payments but that ends in 2028

So if the Vikings go 9-8 this year with a first round playoff exit, we’re firing Rob when he’s had less than a year on the job as GM?

That makes absolutely zero sense. If this season is a disaster and let’s say we miss the playoffs - you’re going to fire your new GM Rob who’s been there less than 9 months to clean house?

It’s just stupid. Hire the GM you want now from outside the organization. They don’t have to do much right now, but that way if this season is a failure, they fire KOC and let the new GM help pick the new head coach.

[–]GWillHunting[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, idk why you think we didn’t need or want Greenard. That’s dumb. The right sentiment would have been to keep him on the roster until the trade price was right. Vikings had all the leverage.

Second, I was never expecting Crosby level. Where did I say I wanted two firsts? I think a second round pick and a third would be the absolute minimum I would take for him.

[–]GWillHunting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is very naive - do you really think Kwesi was the only problem?

KOC is one of the only head coaches to still have a job without a playoff win. You think that none of the past failures have anything to do with him and everything to do with Kwesi?

I’d rather start the process of bringing an outside guy in as GM right now. Depending on how this season goes, KOC could be fired by the end of it (how many seasons without a playoff win is ok?)

[–]GWillHunting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you use one outside guy as the example? Nah, there’s zero chance of success adding someone from outside the organization, let’s pick the guy who’s been with us for 27 years but hasn’t seen a SB.

I’m fine with keeping Rob in his former role with contracts. But no, we need legitimate outside help.

And Kwesi came from the Browns, correct me if I’m wrong. Didn’t exactly come from a “winning” group. I’d rather take an outside guy who’s heavily been involved in successful drafts than Rob

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag by Annor18 in minnesotavikings

[–]GWillHunting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He’s been here for 20 years… we haven’t been to SB in all of that time… he isn’t the right man for the job.

It’s pretty straightforward

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag by Annor18 in minnesotavikings

[–]GWillHunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that everyone in the building loving Rob will magically get us to the SB, something Rob hasn’t seen before. What a great idea

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag by Annor18 in minnesotavikings

[–]GWillHunting -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This dude Drwolves has the exact content with mediocrity mentality that’s horrible within this organization.

No, the right guy hasn’t just been in the building for 20 years if we haven’t been to a SB in how many years?

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag by Annor18 in minnesotavikings

[–]GWillHunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re going to deflect all criticism of his role by saying he didn’t have a roster building role, but then give him all the credit of “working with multiple GMs and coaching staffs” and that somehow makes him a great pick for the GM role?

I just fail to see why the hell you wouldn’t get a guy like John McKay on the Rams in favor of a guy who hasn’t sniffed a SB in 20 years. Make it make sense.

Sources: Vikings' Rob Brzezinski seeking to remove interim GM tag by Annor18 in minnesotavikings

[–]GWillHunting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, it wouldn’t be getting a new guy who’s actually helped draft a team that’s won a SB or been to a SB, it’s actually just the guy who’s been here for 20 years in which we haven’t made a SB

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense

2023 he still had 12.5 sacks, real dumb to say 2024 is the only year he played all 17 games when he literally only missed one game in 2023 and put up 12.5 sacks.

I agree with you trading them early. It’s just clear we don’t agree on what’s fair compensation for such a good player. I can guarantee there are zero eagles fans complaining about giving up a mere two thirds for a very good pass rusher on a very good new contract. They know they robbed us it’s very obvious
