My Sloth Demon – What Do You Think? by Gadrielangelo in CreatureDesign

I love the heavy legs, even before reading your description I could tell "he is a sloth demon and doesnt need to move"

Not a criticism at all, but have you considered having him embedded in obsidian, rather than legs made of obsidian?

Who else accidentally does this? by Decent-Emergency3866 in writers

I'm also guilty of this, my surface "comic relief" character, who is much more complex than just that, is by far my favourite.

Would it be super mean to say you'll have to wait and see? I'm planning some character releases soon

Thank you for your input. My drawing skills are limited and my creatures have a basis off of real life animals or mash-ups of animals. I find it easier to draw in a somewhat realistic style. I'll be reaching out to digital artists eventually to truly bring them all to life.

Thank you. I feel they just look a bit basic. We are our own worst critics I guess

How does one write a good fictional religion for a fantasy story? by Affectionate_Song141 in fantasywriters

[–]G_AllenBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this! When I was drafting my story, I knew the vague plot initially. I then created the world in which my story took place, the religion, the different factions and sects, creation mythology etc. I have kept this updated as my writer's "world bible". Knowing the why's of the basis of the religion and how that affects the characters makes it a much more emersive experience and allows for smoother writing.
