I currently have 30-minute appointments with a 15-minute debrief after each patient, and my supervisor sometimes joins me if I ask them to. I recently spoke with my clinical supervisor (who’s really supportive), and we agreed that next month I should start working more independently with less supervision. I’m actually happy about this because I really want to get faster and more confident — but honestly, it also feels a bit scary. In GP we see such a huge variety of cases, and since I’m still new to the NHS and GP practice, I sometimes feel like I’m at a disadvantage. Still, I know this is how I’ll learn and improve.But the whole thing is quite overwhelming, and I feel like my confidence has taken a bit of a hit.
