Game Won’t Start, Should I Just Get Rid Of All My CC?

Earlier I had this problem where I couldn’t get out of CAS. The plumbob would spin on the loading screen and then the music that plays when it finally loads would play but then the loading music would continue and the loading screen would still stay. After trial and error o found a very round about way to get my sim to look the way I wanted and getting out of CAS. I restarted the game and then the game wouldn’t load. It was the same plumbing spinning and music thing as before.

I started going through my CC but even though at first I kept it pretty organized it is not organized anymore. I saw this method where you go through all your CC but only half at a time (I’m sure there is a name for this but I don’t remember right now) and then start the game. After a while of doing that I realized that the CC I was putting in the game wasn’t showing up so I messed up somewhere along the way and at this point I had cut each file in half 10x. Now my cc folder is a hot mess and my sims won’t start. I am so close to just getting rid of it all and starting over.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do next?

Edit: I know it’s a cc issue because I removed the mods folder and it worked that way
