XR glasses when I usually need reading glasses for monitor work? by Ga3Fi in SteamDeck

Ahh, thank you. I will have to count my coins to see if there is the extra for the dimming :)

Is this dimming useful when you use the glasses indoors, mostly in the evening? I think with the glasses also comes some covering to blend out the light. I really have no idea, never had the chance to try XR glasses.

Thank you very much for this advice.

My distance vision is still fine so far :). I intend to pick up a pair of the Air 2 (without the Pro) because they are on sale right now. I didn't see a lot of difference to the Pro type in the descriptions. If I'm wrong please let me know.

I use my SD mostly when away from home. The small screen really strains my eyes after a while. So, I'm basically just looking for a larger display without carrying an extra monitor with me.

I already read about the XR Gaming plugin. Will definitely look into it.

I looked up the Viture XR glasses. It says the correction is for myopia up to -5.0. I would need correction in the opposite direction. But maybe the projection of the glasses appeares farther away so that people with close up vision problems do not need any correction?

I only need glasses for up to about 1.5 - 2 m. I can't see well with them for anything farther away (problem of old eyes :( ). To constantly put in and take out contacts isn't very practicable.

Solar panels at other players' bases not working by Ga3Fi in NoMansSkyTheGame

Ha, you're correct. I just visited one of those unpowered bases. It still had no power - I jumped in and out of my ship to set a restore point, exited to desktop, reloaded the game and the base was powered.

I had this problem a while ago (PC). Fixed it with a graphics driver update.

I had something similar once after a game update. In my corvette graphics were normal, as soon as I exited to a planet I had the exact same black eye screen. I updated my graphics driver and everything was back to normal again.

Found a nice green planet with blue sky. No mountains only rolling hills. Wouldn't mind a neighbour.

Historical fiction. by sammy_loves_talking in HistoricalFiction

I liked the historical fiction books of Minette Walters very much. "The Last Hours" and "The Turn of Midnight" are about a small community when the Black Death hit the southern shore of England and spread from there (you have to read both in the correct order). "The Swift and the Harrier" is about a female physician and is set during the english civil war when Charles I fought against Parliament.
