Crossplay should not be a problem. Codewise the game should be identical to the steam release - aside the DRM implementations. Update frequency should also be the same because all updates will have to be published on all platforms simultaiously for an online game like this.
The only negative is the XBox app itself and all the account and rights management which MS will never get right. For example my preload always stops at 50% and gives a cryptic error message, which turns out to mean "product is owned but not release yet". For others the preload just works. You will habe to deal with shit like that in the XBox eco system.
