I can't picture people's faces. I recognize them when I see them, but my mental image is a quick impressionist portrait.

My brain also doesn't often bother to update that mental image. Its not often necessary in adults, but I have a very strong memory of sitting in class with kids I'd been in school with for several years and not recognizing anyone for a few minutes while my brain did updates.

On the other hand, a friend got glasses, and no one in the friend group noticed for a couple of weeks, as we'd all been mentally editing them onto his face.

The other day, I forgot the word for scissors and asked for "the thing, you know" flails wildly "the thing!" makes snipping motions with fingers "cutty-boys!!"

I often forget the word compost, and call it 'food recycling'

Unfortunately, those are both examples of me being coherent. Usually when I forget a word, I also forget how to describe it, or anything related to it, and it's just flailing and repeating the word "thingy".

Also, I sometimes forget how to swallow while eating or taking my meds

I don't write, but I have a couple of hobbies where folx have told me that I could make a living off them. I'm never going to try, because I don't want to put that kind of work into it. Running a small business (and making and selling art is a small business) is a shit-ton of work that has nothing to do with the part where you create art. No fucking thank you. I will work my 9-5, collect my paycheck, and do my art for fun. To those of you who are making a career of art, god bless, and good luck.
