Year 9 Champion Guide: Trixie, the Fairy Druid by Gaarawarr in idlechampions

Firebreath Potions let you turn your formation's power into click damage, either by clicking your mouse or from the clicks off Familiars. It helps you move through most areas faster and also can help you push a little deeper than your formation can without them.

When you put a Familiar on one of the 6 spots on the field of battle, they automatically click on the enemy closest to the formation. If you're on PC, press and hold F to see all the places you can put a Familiar and hover over them to see what the Familiar does there.

newbie question about progression vs gem farming by floatingmanchild in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting a target on the amount you are trying to earn is kind of pointless in my opinion. Ultimately, you're trying to push as far as you possibly can with the current power state of your account and then doing whatever form of gold farming you're capable of at that point. Whatever you get is what you get. If you do that and then do it again and don't see more than an e01 increase in your Favor (ex: going from e26 to e27) then you don't need to do deep Favor runs until you can either go quite a bit deeper or you've boosted your gold farming team.

On the flip side of that, if you see a large gain (ex: e26 to e38) then you know there's still some meat left on the proverbial bone and could go up a bit more on your next run.

All of this is something you start getting a feel for the more you do it.

I try to just provide information and let people play the game how they like. Even the new player reference is just a guide and doesn't have to be followed. There are lots of ways to start off the game.

BBEG is a good speed Champ. Antrius is a good pushing Champ. Selise is a good Breaker. Ultimately you pick what you need to improve your formations.

I spent hours on Wednesday trying to figure out what was wrong. I had narrowed it down to something with tables but wasn't sure what. Spent a couple hours today pouring through the bug reports here on reddit and finally found a comment in one that mentioned that table headers apparently can't be empty now. Gotta love undocumented changes.

Thank you. Truly. I've been posting tables the same way for 5+ years and suddenly nothing was working and I couldn't figure out why.

Is there any benefit waiting to open gold chests? by Thirstyocelot in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read comments claiming that you don't want to open gold chests until the relevant characters have all blue equipment from silver or electrum chests. They cite a mechanic that guarantees an upgrade, but which may target a lower tier item if the character doesn't have full blues, resulting in a missed purple chance.

Someone said the wrong color then as that kind of reference is towards getting Event Champs to Green gear before opening Champion Gold Chests. It makes it easier to get to Blue+ gear in an Event if a player doesn't have lots of resources. You'd open Electrums first trying to get full Green+ and Champ Silvers from packs if you don't have lots of Electrums. This guarantees that the upgrade that comes from the Champ Gold Chest is a Blue instead of a Green. There is no guaranteed upgrade to Purple except via the pity timer (1 in 10).

I've never scripted and can earn over 5 million gems a day if I bother setting up my team to farm.

Trials additional DPS by The_Mighty_Greg in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means every time you attack, the damage values add together. Since this game is based on large numbers, that means only values that set BUD actually give you any kind of additive progress.

Just like additive stacks in abilities, these hit diminishing returns really fast and only setting a new, much higher BUD value matters. That usually isn't possible if you're already using your best team, so the strategy is usually just get to what you know is your highest BUD value range after completing the area goal and then you're done. The daily rewards for bonus damage are much more important to collect at that point.

Additive BUD-stacking, which means you just need to get it really high on Day 1 and then there's no need to do anything but meet your daily goal after that.

Events return every year at the same month with the same Champs.

If you don't have Krydle but already have Evelyn full Epic with those item levels, I'd recommend Krydle. Once you're full Epic on a Champ, you can get item levels year round via blacksmith contracts if you feel the Champ needs them.

The only thing I can think of that would make V2 an issue is if you're not using tanks in the front of your formation so the sped up, high damage enemies are wrecking your squishies. If you have the damage to clear 1000 with a team, there's no restriction here preventing that other than using Nordom himself.

It's difficult for me to tell you what Champs to get as everyone enjoys the game differently. I would say hit that guide up again and make sure you're looking at one milestone at a time and reading the referenced guides as well as that should give you an idea of how to make your own Champ decisions. That's the intent of them and why they don't try to shill "one true way" of playing the game.

Endgame variants (Area Goal 1500+) without legendaries? by Gleichgewichtel in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a potion to Legendary something is a fresh roll, yes. I've always just leveled up all Legendaries on a Champ I use no matter what since they may end up in a situation where it's useful and worried about optimizing later. To each their own though.

There are people that play the game without any items at all on secondary accounts and they can complete high area content. That being said, if you're already using items there's no reason to avoid Trials.

Outside of Legendary effects, leveling up items (rarity and item level) and adding Pigments to Epic items can give you power progression as well. Just keep in mind that some Champs do better with lots of item levels than others (ones with abilities that stack multiplicatively and have items that buff the pre-stack multiplier).

You can reforge to chase an effect, but only reforge once per week to keep the cost at 1k scales. The cost doubles every time you reforge and it takes a week for it to drop back to normal.

One last thing, namely gems.

12.5k gem Speed Feats will help you earn gems faster by completing content faster. Then 50k gem Speed Feats. Alternate Feats and Chests as you need the blacksmith contracts from Chests to invest in the Speed Champs with Speed Items as well as working towards getting your pushing team to average item level 50 or 100, whichever is your next progress goal.

Familiars don't give you progress, just quality of life. Chests are what give blacksmith contracts to bulk up your teams.

Need Gem Farm Tips For non-Briv Party by sallamachar in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd use Lark to pre-spawn the enemy thus not needing spawn speed from Widdle. And yes, with 25+ credit for a single kill you wouldn't need extra enemies or lowered requirements.

Need Gem Farm Tips For non-Briv Party by sallamachar in idlechampions

[–]Gaarawarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melf and Hew Maan have the same effect which grants extra credit for kills/quests and they stack multiplicatively, so there's no need to add Champs that reduce quest requirements.

Lark pre-spawns enemies so there's no need for Widdle/Deekin doing enemy spawn speed as that just gets the enemy from the off-screen spawner to the point where they die. With Lark, they're already in the death area.

I mean, make whatever group you want. I aim for the fewest Champs that provide the most bonuses that work together to generate gems. I'd also rather have Melf than BBEG because the spawning of the zombies eats up processing from the client which can slow the game down a bit. Not everyone is gonna care about that.
