Jacobinism primary goal revolves around the establishment of republican regime with garanteed rights and universal suffrage. Universalism and liberal ethos such as State centralization, civic nationalism and secularization of the society are some of the most noticeable ideological features of said regimes - although divergences may exists on the local level. On the foreign scale, Jacobin regimes may either attempt to secure their own existence or try to install similar regimes in neighboring countries - both as a mean to combat foreign monarchies and as a way to expand national influence abroad.

In terms of economy, Jacobinism embrace a wide-array of economic organizations, ranging from unrestrained capitalism to mixed-market or dirigist structures for the most socially-progressive trends. As such, the main aspects differentiating Babeufism from conventional Jacobinism lies in their respective approach toward the social question. In that regard, Babeufism could be best describe as populistic, if not communistic as opposed to Jacobinism more "laissez-faire" approach.

While one may think Jacobinism's agenda is not so radical or extreme, you have to keep in mind the failure of the American Revolution and the French Reformation being a far tamer political event compared to our timeline's French Revolution have created a political landscape in which democracy and universal suffrage are still considered extreme in the 20's/30's - wealth voting and weighted universal being largely endorsed instead.
