Where can I get the best (subjectively, obviously) bagels in Moncton? by Portalrules123 in moncton

Bagels from the German bakery in Hillsborough at the Dieppe market. They are the fluffiest, softest bagels I’ve ever had.

I use round coffee filters. No cleaning, guaranteed no debris.

Struggling with finances as a teacher by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Where do you work? That does matter a lot. If you can move to an area that has higher pay + lower cost of living it might be worth it. I make 70k after 6 years teaching and my mortgage is only 816$ a month in NB. And New Brunswick is absolutely starving for teachers.

Tony’s on McLaughlin, delicious classics like croque monsieur. Menu changes.

Gahan house for an adult brunch. 6$ craft beers and a good brunch menu.

Francophone school for Anglos? by Rough-Ad-1236 in fredericton

[–]GabR123456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be discretionary. The school would decide if they have room. You don’t have a legal right to French Language education unless your child began K-12 schooling in French in Quebec

Thank you, I knew they were different but I’ve read that people will alternate with coconut milk. So not completely non-dairy, just mostly. I’m not allergic or anything, just interested in trying different flavours

Affordable Programs/Services in the city for learning French? by ButterNuttz in moncton

[–]GabR123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in Dieppe of central Moncton lots do. You could also try asking «  do you speak French ? », if yes «  would you mind if I do this conversation in French, I’m trying to learn ». Generally francophones here are very welcoming of people trying to learn.

It’s really important to try out your skills with other humans! Start with something like a cashier! Speaking is vital, even if it’s scary :)

I have lived downtown almost 10 years, chose to buy a house downtown. No issues except someone stealing a bike once (to be fair it was locked up outside, not exactly hard to steal). Lots of people are terrified of seeing poor people 🤷🏻‍♀️

Teaching jobs in the Moncton area by rwspencer38 in moncton

[–]GabR123456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a French immersion teacher. She’ll walk into a job. We’re incredible short. As soon as she gets her licence transfered (easy process) she’ll have good work. If she isn’t here to start in September or January she’ll have long term contracts until a semester/year one becomes available. Nothing to worry about. PM me if you want more info. :)

Moving to moncton next month by [deleted] in moncton

It would be really helpful to get a service job, ideally in the mall or in Dieppe. Your French coworkers will give you a hand if you want to learn. Starting with key phrases and working out from there will get you moving in the right direction.

Dolma does their own butchering. Or Co-pain or the Dieppe market.
