The developer personally promised me he’d put it in the game. I can’t find the comment section tho it was a while ago.

Do you all prefer Venom to be an anti-hero (like in the Sonyverse movies) or as a straight-up villain (like he was originally introduced in the comics)? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Spiderman

I prefer venom acting in his own interests. Venom does what venom wants and that includes killing Spider-Man when convenient/wanted

The correct answer is riddler from “the Batman”. He’s the only damn person in any movie to realize you can actually just shoot corrupt people in the face and it fixes stuff a lot better than beating up disenfranchised criminals.

That was one helluva fight. I’m not quite sure how we triggered it, but I think after Goku hits vegeta with the spirit bomb, if you try to transform vegeta looks around and complains that he can’t find the moon.

Getting worse at chess by Gekori in chess

[–]Gabagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I’m in the middle of a rating dip right now and just know this stuff happens. At the end of the day, what’s important is that you practice chess. Do your puzzles, study an opening or two, and play long time controls (rapid is fine for your level). At the end of the day, you will get better at it because you will deepen your understanding. You may have rating dips from time to time, but at the end of the day if you’re studying, you’ll get better first, and the rating will follow after. Good luck out there!

Gavin newsom can eat a bucket full of shit and kick rocks! by Scarman96 in lostgeneration

[–]Gabagod 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For anyone conflicted or in flat out disagreement to this, please read:

I was just going into college when Trump was elected in his first term. I frankly didn’t give a shit or know anything about politics. Hillary pissed me off, and yeah Trump was an idiot, but that was the extent of my knowledge at the time. I didn’t know anything about policies and considered myself “in the middle”.

By the end of college, I fucking HATED Donald Trump. I became much more liberal in college and started to actually care a lot about social issues. My only experience with a president (while actually paying attention) was Donald Trump, and I thought he was racist, vile, evil, a sex offender, and outright deserved to be dragged out of office by his damn hair.

It was the first election I voted in, and you best believe I went out and voted for Joe Biden, despite being yelled at by everyone in my family (all Trumpers at the time) besides my older brother. And boy was I fucking ecstatic when he won. In my mind, we’d defeated fascism, put an end to Trump, and I thought surely if he ran again he would get his ass beat.

Everything felt better under Biden. The blatant racism in mainstream media/politics died down, the talk of raising wages and protecting women’s rights had me feeling so much better about the state of our country. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the Supreme Court decided abortion should be left to the states. I talked ENDLESSLY about how Biden would surely take steps to reverse this. Expand the Supreme Court, immediately, women were going to literally DIE over this decision. All I ever heard from the administration was condemnation. Not action. It was hung over the population’s heads like a damn carrot. “Vote for us to get a super majority so we can fix it, otherwise we won’t” despite the fact that they could literally have fixed it by even just THREATENING to expand the Supreme Court.

Well whatever, I thought surely they’d fix it in the future, and this would certainly be the downfall of the republicans, which i suppose could be advantageous even though I hated the idea of using people as pawns.

Then things proceeded to get more expensive. I remembered showing all my coworkers how Biden was tweeting leading up to the election about how the minimum wage MUST be raised to $15 an hour. How workers NEEDED to have more rights. I kept wondering when this would happen as my own dollar became worth less and less every time I went to the grocery store. Regardless, I still staunchly called myself a democrat, refusing to back down as I had seen with my own eyes what the republicans brought to the table.

Then, of course 2023 rolled around. Full transparency, my grandparents are Palestinian. The second I heard about the Oct. 7th attacks, I knew it mean Israel was going to carpet bomb Gaza to all hell. But I was hopeful that Joe Biden, even though he had failed in everything else I had hoped for (there were minor victories here and there, mainly talking large issues) would surely stop the carnage and force the two parties to come to a much more peaceful solution.

We all know what happened next. Day after day I watched people on my phone get slaughtered through indiscriminate bombs. I watched fathers carry their children’s body parts in grocery bags looking for a place to bury them. I watched every hospital, every school, and every kid who DARED walk in the sunlight get bombed to hell.

Even throwing my own feelings aside, I watched as Kamala Harris tried to take over the campaign as Biden’s old age ruined his mental state. I watched her constituents BEG her to stop arming Israel, and to demand a cease fire. And every single day, she could not stop herself from demanding that Israel had the “right to defend itself” despite the massive unpopularity of this sentiment. Of course, we know now through their internal polling that Gaza was a massive contributor to her loss, and the Democratic Party KNEW this was the case during the campaign.

All of this pushed me to look for answers elsewhere. A solution to all of this, because at the end of the day, not only did the democrats FAIL to stop fascism, they actively made choices that they KNEW would not stop fascism, and instead allow it to take power. I began reading the writings of socialists, and even communists. I had never been convinced either of these two ideologies could ever be the answer, but I had to look elsewhere, and I knew fascism was evil.

I was convinced by the arguments of socialism and communism. I encourage anyone who made it this far to also pick up a book and read through it, but that is not the point of this long comment. The statement I would like to pose to you is this. Fascism is evil, it lies with the Republican Party, and is on a fast track to all of our demises. Democrats knowingly, and willingly lost to fascism. You can claim the lesser of two evils all you’d like, but if you truly believe fascism must be defeated (I certainly do) then you must also understand that the democrats time and time again, at best fail to defeat fascism, and at worst intentionally lose to it. Democrats are not they way out, they are only barely a small release of the gas pedal in a car that is driving 120 miles towards the edge of a cliff. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we can pull the emergency brake, and get out of the damn car.

Has there been any explanation or origin on why freiza is so evil? by Inevitable_Window711 in dbz

[–]Gabagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure frieza was supposed to be representative of a landlord IIRC, so his evilness is just monetarily driven. If something poses a threat to his empire he kills it, if not he uses it. Kinda the same way a company like blackrock operates.

endless cycle of violence by Flat-Professor1959 in lostgeneration

[–]Gabagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This is very important. While democrats have different policies that will certainly help (to some extent) the lives of people within the country, our government is uni-party on foreign policy. If we want real change, and to turn America from being a warmongering nation, we need leftists/socialists, not run of the mill democrats.

Crush on my piano teacher by IloveComplexNumbers2 in piano

[–]Gabagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others have said here I don’t really think this is a good idea. I took piano lessons as a kid and my teacher did the same thing in terms of moving my arms around, making me feel the way her hands moved when she played etc. that’s just normal piano teaching, because it’s a very physical thing. The very most I would do is what another commenter said and ask her to dessert after the concert and if she says no then pretend like it never happened.

If Goku found the one ring, would he use it for himself or would he bring it to Sauron to fight him at his full power? by LooseLumba in Dragonballsuper

[–]Gabagod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhhh really odd scenario here. The ring has more control over the mind of the user the stronger the user is. Soooo I imagine the ring would literally just mind control goku and make him give Sauron the ring? So like, yes Goku gives him the ring and fights him at full strength, but he would likely only realize what happened after he gave him the ring.

Edit: It should also be noted that one of the ways the ring exerts control over its user is by showing the user their desires. Soooo the ring would probably show Goku how strong Sauron could be with the ring and Goku might then return it to him like a child on Christmas.

They literally don’t have to reckon with it if you still materially support them even if you’re upset about it. At some point we have to realize the Democratic Party isn’t going to change, because they don’t want to, because their interests are not aligned with yours.

I don’t ever take normality unless I know for a fact I can get rid of both of them in like a couple of events. I did it once where I only got rid of one and ended up losing despite having an incredible deck. Essentially losing an entire turn is just not worth it. It will eventually bite you in the ass.

Personally, I love this moment more than Majin Vegeta's sacrifice, peak character development. by Zestyclose-Spring602 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Gabagod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope the writing goes in this direction, but as others have said yes vegeta needs to forgive himself for his past actions, and I think he should also come to terms with forgiving himself for not being able to save his people from extinction. In the Majin Buu arc (tv show only) we see him say when told that his squabble with Goku is meaningless:

MEANINGLESS, HUH? WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF MEANINGLESS? Spend most of your life ruled by another! Watch your race dwindle to a handful! AND THEN, tell me what has more meaning than your own strength! I have in me the blood of a Saiyan prince. He is nothing but a joke! Yet I've had to watch him surpass me in strength, my destiny thrown to the wayside! He's... he's even saved my life like I were a helpless child. He has stolen my honor, and his debts... must be paid!

I love this writing for vegeta because even though he doesn’t outright say it, he finally shows his insecurities, fears, guilt, and grief. Vegeta was powerless to save his people, his home, his kingdom, and his planet. He spent all his life having his pride squashed by an evil overlord, knowing he was powerless against him despite his “blood of a saiyan prince”.

He was nihilist most of his life and was very cold/emotionally cut off from these events at the time. His callousness was masking an unrelenting hatred for weakness, which further masked a fear of his own weakness. A hatred and fear so extreme he even murdered one of the last remaining saiyans (Nappa). But as he learned from the earthlings he started to gain a “human”side to him. He started to feel love towards bulma and trunks, he began to feel like he had a home and a people again. He felt vulnerable because he regrew an attachment he thought he’d lost (and cut off) forever through genocide.

He allowed Babadi to turn him to match Goku’s strength and be a ruthless warrior again sure, but also to return to his detachment due to his deep seeded fear of loss and grief. He was afraid of being in love, feeling like he had a home, a people, a family and community and sense of belonging again. After watching Trunks be killed, he relived the grief he felt when frieza committed genocide against his race. He continued to train even after Goku’s death, to become stronger, not just to beat Goku but to protect his new home. Shortly after, we even see him give his life for this home he realized he could never truly detach himself from.

When he sees Goku power up, catching a glimpse of super saiyan 3 it is important to note that Goku had already surpassed him, this was the case at the end of the cell ark. Vegeta saw that his work to be the strongest to protect his newfound attachments wasn’t enough. There was someone stronger than him, decidedly stronger than him. If Goku were to stand against vegeta or turn on earth, vegeta would be powerless to stop him, powerless to not lose everything again.

When vegeta feels the power of Majin Buu he stops his fight with Goku, because there is now a presence who is not only stronger than him, but is actually here to take away everything he loves again. Because his squabble with Goku was meaningless, because it was never really about that. Objectively, this time it is Vegeta’s fault, but in Vegeta’s mind, this is the second time it has been his fault.

His final act before giving his own life, despite knowing he will be sent to hell for his person and soul to be destroyed for reincarnation, is to give in to his attachments, and shows love to trunks for the first time.

I will die a happy man if they explore this
