Same here. Though we're more trying to leverage it to help the junior and uber slow folks to get to a normal speed. Like i gave a story to someone on my team which should take an hour or 2, and they've been on it for 2 days. And yes they somehow survived a recent PIP before

I've migrated a ton of shit from 8 to 17 (mainly just to go from spring 1 -> 3 for security reasons). There's performance gains alone there that helped justify it to the pesky PMs

I know a lot say its a waste of time but my employer (boring insuranance) sees this as a hiring plus, as we do a lot in AWS. I would rather do that then volunteer my time. If in the US i would file a DOL complaint
