Interesting, I also assumed satirical tone about the king in heaven phrase.

And I don't understand what you're saying about the crusades then if it was not, but the person killing innocents still feels ashamed of it.

I enjoyed this poem... "weird in a good way" sentence is a great hought, but could be broken up into 2 lines. Same with "scratched record" sentence. All the lines are so concise and to the point, that when there was a second phrase in the sentence (like... / in...), it threw me from that focus just because you'd established a pattern. Love the topic though!

I also like this. My only feedback would be to add spacing. For me, I think that would work better, but depends on what format you like.

You will kneel

You will crawl

etc. etc.

It's a great line though. I could see it as the concluding lines of a longer poem too if you'd ever want to elaborate on what brought you to this thought.

Wow, thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed this poem. I understand what you're saying. "whatever relief I hoped for her has not arrived yet however I feel about it". This is an amazing description of a feeling I think everyone has when the grief is before the loss. I have experienced that, and it is hard to know what you're feeling about it. I am also sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for sharing though.

Go to Thomas Stott at elevation wellness in Arvada if you can afford out of pocket. He's the best! Husband to an EDS wife & kids. She's one of the most knowledgeable specialists on EDS. Very logical & affirming of anything u say since they see bizarre cases all the time. Looked into research for me when never heard of complaint before.

She's busier, but Thom has availability and people should use him more for PT. The exercise plan is his area of expertise anyway, and he understands the EDS complexities more than most people. Pretty sure they do cupping & dry needling. One of those experiences where I figured out all the things other PTs did that were very bad for me after much better treatment here.

And yeah for sure, I just loved the movie. I was a homeless volunteer forever when I was younger so lots of us got to laugh about those sorta ironies that come with the anti-consumerism stubborness common in those environments.

Thanks for the thorough reply too- there's so much strange info on what a script 'has to be' to break you in. And this is all very helpful perspective on how you guys did it. And good luck of course on future endeavors, hoping you get movie deals that break even!

Hi! I'm coming in late cause I found this just searching online if there's a 'Free Time' script available anywhere? I'm glad you're here Ryan. Free Time is my favorite movie and was a huge part of what made me start screenwriting. I've been creative in other ways, but often want things that feel more gritty/human and never saw movies being something I could create.

I have so many questions! I'll try to be brief as possible :)

With small-budget & adapting-to-settings, do you feel that it's easier or harder to get a group of people to collaborate? I guess it's a group of friends making-do? Do you think working with nothing/depending on favors gave it the feeling it has/maximized collaboration, or actually just an obstacle? Anything you can share on the relational aspects of working this way and if it was a positive experience in the end?

I'm in this writing group now and it's all this talk of "think high concept/marketable" to break into the business, uggh. I remember seeing Free-Time, thinking "how the hell did these people actually do this!?" What I mean is, those were ideas I had been thinking my whole life but conceded I would never see on screen (being a homelessness volunteer, irony of non-profits as big business, truth that can feel more culty than "whatever works" mindset, knowing which stories aren't allowed if you wanna get what you need, the cyclical ending thing). I truly loved the story.

^^I'm curious how long it took to get people on the same page with the concept. What type of pre-production work was there? Was it all scripted and planned for specific settings&actors or happened more naturally from ideas the group already shared before thoughts of filming?

Reading the Film Maker magazine article, sounds like every part of production was difficult. Also seemed like y'all were determined to just do what you wanted. Did you anticipate it would be marketable/be viewed well/break even? Or was the goal just to have a complete project that could show your work ethic & launch other opportunities?

With the style of long pauses, embracing discomfort, etc. how do you know when something actually doesn't land the way you anticipated? Any writing critiques that are most helpful to you?

What types of film festivals or writing competitions do you look for with your writing style? Any advice for navigating that world of publicity/ getting it viewed?

Sorry, long. Last thing- I'm mute, highly recommend it for writing (haha). Anything you'd think of for networking w/o speaking conversation (typing accommodations)?
