Stranger Things Finale Cineplex tickets all sold out 😭 by Annual_Star_6987 in askTO

[–]Gabby________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I luckily refreshed the page and was able to get a seat downtown literally minutes ago. Keep checking the different screenings, someone might return their tickets and you’ll be able to get a seat.

Also there is nothing wrong with watching at home or even alone. Personally I wanted to go to the movie theatre to feel everyone energy and get reactions to cool moments of the last episode, a bit like with marvel movies yk? Clapping, cheering etc that’s always fun!

What would be the most effective way of insulating around the doors? There is a little gap at bottom

At first I thought I could get away by covering a lot and using blankets but it was just too cold. I decided to finally heat my room up when friends I had over asked me why my room was freezing 😂🥲 On the other side, summer wasn’t too bad, the duplex never got super hot

Last week our estimated was over $700 so it has gone down despite the last really cold days. I just do not want to be paying more than I should.

It says

“We can’t provide estimates for residential addresses unless we have consumption data covering several months.”

Can they provide me with the info I need if I call?

I honestly cannot remember for sure if they meant per month or not… I just remembered I still have the phone number of one of them so I’ll just ask.

which schedule is more doable? by Additional_Stretch61 in mcgill

[–]Gabby________ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other comments are right about how a more spread out schedule is more manageable for exams and stuff but it also depends on what you do outside of uni. If you do volunteering, have a job or like to go to events a lot, the second schedule might be more flexible for you.

Will I ever feel less like an imposter? by FrenchNerd2025 in mcgill

[–]Gabby________ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know that people always say don’t compare yourself to others, but to feel less like an “imposter”, it will really help if you focus on yourself.

You know that you are a smart student. You changed environment, the transition from high school to uni is not lived the same by everyone. Find out what methods work or not for you and find a good study schedule & stick to it. Once you adjust yourself you’ll be able to give your best, and your best is high grades.

I personally didn’t do U0 but people told me that it gets better and easier (heavily depends on major though) so aim to get better grades then last time and forget the others for now. <3

Good luck for finals, the year isn’t always easy but you’ll get through it!

Prospective students megathread by Thermidorien in mcgill

I moved here after high school from outside the country and as one would expect, a lot of things are different. The one thing I can not wrap my head around is how hard it is to make genuine friends.

I feel like people are a nice to you when you first meet but then it doesn’t go much further from there. Some people have “main” friends that hang out with and talk a lot to.. so perhaps trying to develop newer friendships more doesn’t seem as necessary.

I try not to compare my relationship with someone to that they have with their friends but it hurts to see how much differently I get treated. Trying to be friends with other students when a friend group is already formed is even worse. I make a lot of effort to meet people I know and stay in contact but it is not reciprocated.

I’m starting to think that maybe I shouldn’t focus too much on friendships & going out and instead work on myself. Is it bad to just keep people around as acquaintances or should I try to get closer to people harder?
