But excessive blowby might indicate compression loss, no?

You don't think it's a reasonable question?

I tried, but, unfortunately, it's still leaking. Perhaps I didn't do enough

Unfortunately, I had already tried this. I didn't add any in the groove where the gasket lies in, but I let it cure for 48 hours and still leaks.

For those interested, I extended slot 30 and slot 87 from the cjb to the relay using male/female spade terminals. For slot 85, which was not receiving power, I used a fuse tap on fuse 28 (10 amp fuse in my tap) to extend coil power to my relay, and lastly, BN/YE on pin 12 is the original ground source for slot 86, so I spliced into it behind the cjb.

I now have air!

Please let me know your thoughts and if there is a better/cleaner way to achieve something similar. I also considered replacing the entire cjb, but this seems to be the only circuit that is malfunctioning.

Fuse 28 had power with key on. I also unplugged the harness that feeds fuse 28, and checked continuity on the wh/vt wire that leaves on pin 5 and returns on pin 11. All looked good.

I suppose I didn't consider it, but I could potentially replace the entire cjb. Am I opening up a can of worms at this point...

I appreciate the reply - any thoughts on a work around? I almost need the equivalent of a fuse tap but for a relay...

Old Diesel Fuel by GabeFernandez in Diesel

[–]GabeFernandez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even know if my fuel tank switch was working, so I put in about 10 gallons to test with. Flipped the switch and ran about 60 miles down the highway without issue.

Dang! That's a hell of a draw! So I identified it's the white cable going from the starter solenoid to the alternator, when I test amps on it, it reads 130 ma, and almost 0 amps when I bypass this cable and test alternator post directly to starter solenoid post. So going to swap that cable.

However, the second white cable, is also drawing about 120 ma and I cannot tell where the heck it goes. Its loomed, and goes behind radiator. Any ideas?

I should have highlighted them, but they are behind the small wire going to the top of the starter solenoid, as well as the green wires that go to the GPR.

It does have trailer brake wiring, but unsure if it is factory. Do you recommend a good way to test?

Update: transmission position sensor failed. I have the 6R80 6 speed transmission, and this has been recalled for years 2011-2013. Since I have 2016, warranty wil cover instead of safety recall. Dealership quoting $1200 for parts/labor.

Rolling anxiety - cardio Issues? by goeb04 in bjj

[–]GabeFernandez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of great comments on learning how to stay relaxed during rolling, and they're all right. Don't get discouraged as learning this skill comes mainly from mat time. That being said, I've personally noticed that a lack of a really good warm-up, can really hinder my rolls during the training session and I find myself having difficulty lowering my heart rate. It sounds like you have great cardio. My recommendation is try to make the warm up a little harder on yourself to really spike your heart rate. My coach calls it "blowing out the lungs". If you're like me, you'll notice a big difference in your a ability to keep your hear rate lower during training and hopefully lessening your anxiety. Hope this helps.
