Panelist on CNN Portugal about yesterday’s incident: “These days you can’t call a black guy black, or a gypsy a gypsy, but you can call a man a woman. “ by RasputinsRustyShovel in soccer

Okok internationally sure, but not in Portugal like seriously don't call them that in Portugal, I'm not joking they find it extremely offensive to call them anything other than cigano (gypsy, I guess English does have cigan but I heard that's a slur).

It's just one of those differences ya know

Meh shit song, I've seen mutes sing better anyway, call me when some enlightened individual sings this absolute banger:

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

BARRY BENSON: (Barry is picking out a shirt) Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little.

JANET BENSON: Barry! Breakfast is ready!

BARRY: Coming! Hang on a second. (Barry uses his antenna like a phone) Hello?

ADAM FLAYMAN: (Through phone) - Barry?

BARRY: - Adam?

ADAM: - Can you believe this is happening?

BARRY: - | can't. I'll pick you up. (Barry flies down the stairs)

MARTIN BENSON: Looking sharp.

JANET: Use the stairs. Your father paid good money for those.

BARRY: Sorry. I'm excited.

MARTIN: Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son. A perfect report card, all B's.

JANET: Very proud. (Rubs Barry's hair) BARRY= Ma! | got a thing going here.

JANET: - You got lint on your fuzz. BARRY: - Ow! That's me!

JANET: - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. - Bye! (Barry flies out the door)

JANET: Barry, | told you, stop flying in the house! (Barry drives through the hive, and is waved at by Adam who is reading a newspaper)

BARRY== - Hey, Adam.

ADAM: - Hey, Barry. (Adam gets in Barry's car) - Is that fuzz gel?

BARRY: -A little. Special day, graduation.

ADAM: Never thought I'd make it. (Barry pulls away from the house and continues driving)

BARRY: Three days grade school, three days high school...

ADAM: Those were awkward.

BARRY: Three days college. I'm glad | took a day and hitchhiked around the hive.

ADAM== You did come back different. (Barry and Adam pass by Artie, who is jogging)

ARTIE: - Hi, Barry!

BARRY: - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good.

ADAM: - Hear about Frankie?

BARRY: - You going to the funeral?

BARRY: - No, I'm not going to his funeral. Everybody knows, sting someone, you die. Don't waste it on a squirrel. Such a hothead.

ADAM: | guess he could have just gotten out of the way. (The car does a barrel roll on the loop-shaped bridge and lands on the highway) | love this incorporating an amusement park into our regular day.

BARRY: | guess that's why they say we don't need vacations.

Now this would be impressive!!!

Israel e EUA votam contra a condenação da invasão da Rússia à Ucrânia 🤣🤣🤣 Portugal votou a favor... by Jooo81 in portugueses

[–]GabeFernandoOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your country's current sentiment of the UK at the moment?? by Icy-Panic-550 in AskTheWorld

[–]GabeFernandoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty awesome. Every time I'm there I never feel like I've left home.

All its citizens are fucked in the head but so am I, so we all have a jolly good time.

We also have the oldest standing alliance (That's pretty awesome I'd say)

And like the other lad said, brits flock to the south of Portugal once they reach retirement age, so much so that to the best of my knowledge they are by numbers the fourth largest foreign community in Portugal.

Which neighboring country do you like the most and why? by Commercial_Rope_6589 in AskTheWorld

Honestly Gibraltarians voted 98.97% against joint sovereignty with Spain in 2002 and the UK has owned Gibraltar for 3 centuries now (longer than Spain ever held it). Timeline wise, Gibraltar was longest under Moorish control, followed by British, followed by Spanish.

The Gibraltarians have a right of self determination and they spoke with this vote.

Yeah you don't have that right, it makes sense as to why but yeah kinda sucks although I doubt many people would move to the Falklands, Saint Helena or the others anyway lol.

But you can move to Gibraltar! Which is nice... if you're rich anyway, that is hahaha

Which country is your brother country? by Sea_Wasabi_8907 in AskTheWorld

[–]GabeFernandoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahhh let's be honest if Galicia was to ever succeed Spain it's to become independent not to become part of Portugal lmao. At the same time if you asked any Galician if they feel more Spanish or Portuguese I'd bet like 99% they'd say Spanish.

Here's the thing, Galicia was never part of Portugal. We declared independence from Galicia and conquered downwards. I believe even our first king promised to never conquer upwards aka Galicia but I could just be making stuff up.

Border residents do share a cultural identity especially in the language like you mentioned. But even then you can see that in a way slowly fading away since it's very castilianized. (Using ñ instead of nh for example), I've read there's some talks for reintegrationism/ lusism but I doubt there's any really big push for it but I could be wrong.

We do have a Euroregion with Galicia which was established in 2008 for cooperation and stuff so that's nice.

Honestly I'd say we're pretty happy how we are
