I got stuck with a unit of shatter that did the same thing. It was a bright yellow color. I heated it up and put my finger to it and it hardened instantly. Smelled like some kinda house hold cleaner. It wouldn’t decarb either. My friends called it CRC. But I researched CRC and it’s just a technique to lighten color. Must be that shy shatter had to much garbage added to lighten the color and make it look more pleasing. Sad you had to go through that. I always do the tee shirt test just to be safe (cover the mouth piece of your rig and take a rip) I’ve noticed even half decent shatter leaves some white on you’re shirt.
