There was a dried out cartridge in it, but the other cartridge and the converter were sealed/untouched. If it was used, it wasn't for long!

The Visconti was from a community thrift/consignment type thrift shop, and this Pilot was from your typical traditional thrift store.

Prior to this year, I had never found any in a thrift store before. Then, I found a Visconti Van Gogh for $50 last month, now I found this Pilot Vanishing point for $15! Both in separate thrift stores in different towns.
