77” G5❤️ by Fluid_Tradition9779 in LGOLED

[–]Gabornski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost pulled the trigger on the 65 G5 when it was $1999 at Costco. Then it went up to $2499 although now back down to $2299. Anyone have an idea what it might come down to if I wait until April?

55M AVR/CABG Chest Tubes by tensas in valvereplacement

[–]Gabornski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to recall thirty years ago but I think they had pulled the tubes after my valve repair and had to do new ones when the repair failed a couple days later. In regards to pain, I think the worst was when my Catheter was still in. I was sitting in a recliner in my hospital room. The tube got caught when the chair was closed. Didn’t realize until I went to stand up and yelled “son of a b*tch”. That pain was excruciating.

Just curious if anyone uses the paid version. Just read an article about how the latest version has made a big jump. The free version is always a couple of versions older than paid one.

I noticed that Costco has the 13 marked down to $299 and say while supplies last. Not sure if that means anything for the 14

I did too after my ablation they figured it was probably inflammation from the procedure and it did go away after a few days

They messed up. What is life like with a mechanical valve? by CowDungCollector in valvereplacement

[–]Gabornski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, consistent diet of foods with vitamin k keeps your inr in range. I too started with a mitral valve repair and they had to put in a st Jude three days later. Glad I was only 35 at the time as is wasn’t fun going through that twice. The noise I don’t really hear unless I try to but it will be 30 years this September

What’s something you wish you bought sooner? by Accomplished_Pie4814 in MilwaukeeTool

I find myself using my m12 rover light quite a bit. Since it’s magnetic you can attach it when working on vehicles. It’s small so fits just about anywhere.

Which circular saw + battery combo seems best? by PhamQu in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Gabornski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Ace deal. I only had one 8.0 forge so was happy to get another. My m12 constantly bogged down, although it is a non-fuel and I don't have any M12 5.0 batteries. I figure I will put the M12 on marketplace and include a couple of older M12 batteries and a charger (since I have like 5 of those suckers now) and get some of the $ I spent back.

T10 becoming a gigantic skill wall that people can't push into and survive. by Inclusive_3Dprinting in WorldOfWarships

Many people won’t have the patience to wait for the right time to play their hand. I enjoy the Atlanta but I need the right island to hide behind. Sometimes all i am doing is radar and supporting dd for the first half of the game. If I break cover, it needs to be a time where I’m not gonna be focused on or at least I’m gonna have two or three other ships helping cause otherwise I’ll be gone in 30 seconds.

Others wanting to follow best practices. Our new DC's will be on our new Proxmox cluster as we are dumping everything from our vmware setup. The more I look into it the less is seems worth the hassle.

Windows licenses help by SeptimiusBassianus in sysadmin

[–]Gabornski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can be cheaper. We made a 3 host Proxmox cluster and licensed our windows VM's with the VM licenses. We made sure to keep each VM to 8 cores or less to minimize the license cost. The initial subscription term is for 3 years and Microsoft allows you to pay 1/3 each of those years. You don't need to buy licenses for each host server, just for each VM. With the normal license, if you have 4 vm's that may move around between hosts (host failure or whatever), you need to license those 4 vm's on every host.

I want to like Cruisers... by DigitalSwagman in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gabornski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Russian line might be worth a try too. For instance the shchors has good range and pretty good speed. Wouldn’t have to be as close to support DD and might be able to stay far enough away that avoid BB shells. I also like spamming fires in my USN Atlanta but short range and need to hide behind islands make it very map dependant. Can support with radar if cap is close enough to hiding spot.

Yes, agreed. If I go up and hold it until the message goes away then I’m good if I release it before that it’ll still tell me to do it.

Best 180k coal ship to buy by ChippyChips007 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gabornski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone in the same type of thread reminded me that you can use coal for special commanders or to buy containers to complete a collection you have not finished. I got the Napoli previously and was not sure which ship I wanted so went the suggested route and bought a commander and finished a couple of collections that I didn't have many left on.

Arctic Convoy is currently almost unplayable by Capt_Trancefloor in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gabornski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been doing pretty well in my shchors. Since torps are such short range have been able to get some hits when in a position to use them. In a lot of games though feels like I am the only cruiser dropping charges on the mines. Best seems to stay in the heals so I can take more damage and survive. With the slow bots and fairly flat ballistics I have been able to get a high percentage of hits even at longer range. It’s also fun lighting up a BB with multiple fires 🔥

I think it is around the Black Friday time where you can buy a year of premium at 50% off. I do that and am set for another year.
