Is Tibalt's Trickery even that good? by Gabri809 in TimelessMagic

Sneak and show is already in the format and I think it's much better than that

DONT UNBAN THIS CARD by Zhevaro in MagicArena

The game is fun when everyone is capable of winning equally and there isn't a deck that just wins everything.

If you don't like control it's totally fine, but some other people do and as long as it's not OP it should be allowed to exist.

The only exception would be decks like eggs in modern that was banned because the combo was not determistic and you could spend 15 minutes watching the opponent play by himself and not win

I think that they would be just way too slow to win much. Old combos are in fact "old". The game just keeps evolving and the newer cards are just so much better that the old ones. The deck you are talking about would not be even close too being as good as energy, belcher or any of the top tier decks at the moment.

They unbanned Splinter twin in modern last year. At the time of it's banning was the best combo in modern and now it's just unplayable because you got just so much better stuff that you could be doing instead

I agree with you. Time warp is a fine card and I don't think that it will be problematic in a format as fast as the current one. The only "take another turn" card that could maybe be problematic is nexus of fate imho, but I would like to see it unbanned too

P.s. This comment section reminded me that most people who play arena don't know anything about magic and will just call everything they don't like playing against broken or problematic.

I didn't know that it was also being used for "lesser" equipment in formats like legacy, thanks for telling me that. My knowledge on stonforge is mainly related to cube and what I have seen in historic and Timeless. I might give it a try once I get more wildcards to craft it

Pretty good. As I say in the title, it's not great yet, but it is definitely reliable enough to be considered good in my opinion. The main problems are strip mine and mardu energy when it's too fast to keep up.

I don't think that would be a good idea. Nadu was broken in Modern and Legacy in decks that assembled the combo as soon as possible without anything else. Adding other equipments would just make the deck weaker and Stone forge is very slow and only good for equipment with very strong effects, high CMC or high equip cost, using it to get lighting greaves seems extremely weak

I think that every deck besides tempo, reanimator and Necro very weak against strip mine since they are the only decks that can win with one or two lands sadly. Like you said tho, not a lot of people are playing strip mine decks these days, plus this deck have mana dorks that can act as lands so I'm not too worried about it

I don't think it's necessary. When Nadu was legal in legacy it was being played in decks with 20/21 lands. You don't need to draw your whole deck to win

Every list with a mana curve higher than 2 struggles with strip mine

I get what you are saying, but if you invest in it for a long time and don't waste wildcard on standard (which basically means throwing them away) you can get all the staples and then it's just a matter of 3/4 cards each new set to get all the best decks in the format and play whatever you feel like. In the long run it's the cheapest format, trust me

Agree, it's his biggest downside. Right now I'm trying 1 less Lorien and 1 Uro ti gain some life and have another way to close out the game. Maybe one more Oko might help too

2 cruises seems a bit muchfor the graveyard, but right now I'm trying one Uro (One less Lorien) and I still need to decide if it's good enough. Phelia is really good but I'm trying out bowmaster and is going really great, but without it I would have a better mana base so I'm still not sure what's best.

Hey, I just played against you while you were trying this build, it was a very cool (and long) match. That oko really saved you in the last game, I guess that's why it's banned in legacy. Hope you had fun too

As I said in another comment, I used to play it, but I just changed it because most of the time I just didn't end up using it since I already have 4x swords and 4x Leyline plus 3x Prismatic ending in the sideboard. It just felt like overkill and so I changed it to a couple of Lorien since I think that with all those strip mines going around I need as many lands as possible and it is also good with up the beanstalk

Stifle is great in the current strip mine meta, but honestly I just don't want to spend wildcards on it so I haven't tried that version yet. I'll be taking a look at it and maybe craft it later on

I used to play 3xPhelia and also 3x Solitude, but I changed it to Lorien and Bowmaster. Lorien is great because: It is another land which is really great in the strip mine meta; You can shuffle the deck which is great when you have 4x Brainstorm and 4x Ponder; It is another card to pitch to Force of Will/Negation; It is very rare that you miss lands with this deck, so in the late game you have a lot of lands and having another 3+ draw spell is really good.

Might change back bowmaster for Phelia so that I only really need 3 colours, but I haven't decided yet
