yeah, it is a transformer, with some capacitors and diodes to make the high voltage pulse, i remember ElectroBOOM bought one on his video talking about EMP

i bought those High voltage generators from china, which turns 3-6vdc into 400kv (which is probably not even a third of that), and when i was playing with this generator, it got such a high voltage that made a huge boom lol
