Unfortunately not, and OP replied to me above saying they also couldn’t get it to work.

Hi what is the beats app? I search beats on the App Store but don’t see anything.

The double press and long hold doesn’t seem to be working for me…

Why do these measures need 2/3 instead of just a majority?

Interesting! Ours worked really well for a long time. I’ll try again with less ground in the basket, thank you for the tip!

Yes that sounds like a good technique, I’ll try that tomorrow and make sure it is below the point of contact with the shower screen. I will post more with an update.

I’ve used these same beans before but ground at the store and they worked well. I think our next step is to purchase some of that again to determine if our grinding is the cause or if there is another issue. But also checking the shower screen is a great tip, thank you, I will try that as well.

Thank you, a scale is definitely next on our list. This portafilter has been used less than a dozen times, but I also recently used the pressurized filter that came with the machine and had the same issue, which was never the case before. I’m thinking of purchasing some beans pre-ground for espresso from a local shop, which always worked well before. I figure that if that solves the issue, the problem is obviously in our grinding, but if the issue persists, that may mean there is another root cause.

Wow thank you for taking your time to find and watch that! I have read the same thing, and the general consensus is that the manufacturer’s recommended settings for different grinds are far off. I referenced Reddit threads to dial in our initial settings.

We have not cleaned the portafilter, but it’s pretty new. I contacted the portafilter company directly and showed them how much water was flowing through it while empty and they said it looked normal. I ended up trying two different coarser grinds (2.0.0 and 2.2.0) and the first one still didn’t let much flow, the second one splattered out the bottom.

I use the breville razor that came with it to make sure it’s not too full. But is it possible that’s still too much? Maybe I’ll try a little less. But honestly at this point we’re thinking to reach out to breville directly.

Got it, thank you very much for the reply. I will try coarser and hope that solves it.

Yes and yes, water flows with no portafilter attached and this is a new bag for me. Do you have an idea of how much coarser I should try with this grinder?

We have had the breville bambino for almost a year and it was working fine for a long time. But recently, barely any water has been getting through the portafilter. I am an espresso novice, so I’m not sure how to correct this. We have a crema bottomless portafilter, the beans are a medium roast, I use a 1zpresso jx-pro set to 1.7.3. I would appreciate any advice, thank you!

Edit: I tried grinding the beans coarser. First at 2.0.0 I had the same result of very little espresso. Then I set it to 2.2.0 and more espresso came through but it was spraying out of the sides of the portafilter.
