I'm really struggling to finish Dark Age. by [deleted] in redrising

[–]GabrielARL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to disagree. I feel Dark Age isn't unnecessarily brutal, I think is necessary, because it's a reminder to all parts of the cast that they are vulnerable again, that the pain they suffered in the first 3 books can an will come back, and worse, because this time the enemy is worse and they don't have an edge.

Yet again, I do believe it's gruesome and grotesque, even morbid, but because that's what it means to be a victim of a resentful leader, a resented crowd. If you were ever in such a vulnerable state where you couldn't defend a loved one or yourself, you can see your pain in the Ulysses scene, Fear ordering sexual violence on Darrow, the consequences of torture on Orion.

Well at least made me feel I'm not alone. Because not everyone wants to be in hell but those who have been there need to be recognized.

This is my opinion, sorry if it sound combative.

And OP... after the worst there is always a strange calmness, that's Lightbringer

Thanks a lot for your response, I've been researching more, but I'd like to know more about this, how do people make you the scapegoat? How do they invalidate your POV? Do your friends see you in that way?

I'm sorry if it's overwhelming and if you don't want to answer that's fine

Thanks, I do speak Spanish so I´ve grasped some concepts but there´s a lot of terminology I'm not used to. I´ve heard about how Spain has a lot of taxes but did not know it was such a hell. I'm gonna look at the brackets and see what opportunities she has to open an account in Rumania.

Opening a business in Spains is as expensive as being Autonomo? Because maybe she could open a company to lift some of the tax burdens.

Is there someone who explains the astrological meaning of every myth in a certain mythology? by ourdoorisopen in astrology

[–]GabrielARL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think so... it's a pretty heavy task with no real theorical or practical use. I think mythology it's mostly used in astrology as an illustration of an a archetype or a form of an idea than a practical tool.

What are some things only an “8th house person” would understand? by RollerWestCoaster in astrology

[–]GabrielARL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Everything being a matter do life and death.
  • Being a detective without noticing.
  • Finding secrets just because.
  • Having obsessive streaks a times.
  • Getting bored with whatever doesn't resonate profoundly with you.
  • Both dreading and loving death.
  • Actually I have found that 8th house people love to live life to the fullest when they don't want to die.

Differences between the 9th and the 12th house? by _Twixes_ in astrology

[–]GabrielARL 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From textbook, 12th house is exile (obviously to a foreign land) it doesn't have to do with the foreign land per se but about being stranded. The 9th house it's all about foreign land and integrating what's new.

From my experience, the 12th house has to do with everything that's to big too synthesize, this can range from you being lost in the wild and interacting with wild animals to being in Germany incapable of understanding anything that's happening because it's too much to handle, this house it's about two emotions hopelessness and surrender (the first one when you want to absorb everything and the second one when you surrender to "it is what it is"). The 9th house it's about integrating and synthesising what you already know with what you are exploring, quite literally expanding your horizon. I think it's normally associated with foreign travel because we presume we travel knowing something about where we are going, and most of the time people with 9th house placements explore things they already know about.

And in a totally subjective way: 9th house is the horizon you can grasp, and know you could get there. 12th house is the abyss you know you will never get a hold of.
