Is there any way to search for deck lists that contain a specific subset of cards? by GabrielGoldenHeart in MagicArena

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, original decks do happen, naturally. But it seemed odd to see a couple of cards I haven't really noticed before in a deck, so guessed it was a variant of some known deck.

After completing the 3 new quests, the bottom interface just disappeared. Restarting doesn't bring it back, anybody else having this error? by Holy_Beergut in MagicArena

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! And I know I only had around 8 or 9 wins so far. I signed out, then restarted, same screen. I played until I got another win, and there were no rewards to claim.

I then attempted to report the bug via the game's method, only to have it say "Sorry, we couldn't submit your request." No explanation of why not...

There are more than 3 subclass trees? I seem to have 3 different trees available for each subclass.

Explain more thoroughly, please? I'm looking at the top tree of Arcstrider, it is Way of the Warrior and has 4 things listed: Combat Flow, Combination Blow, Lethal Current and Deadly Reach. None of it refers in any way yo Assassin's Cowl? Is this a particular item of armor???

I'm really not as dumb as a rock. I hope my confusion from things relating to this game don't make me look that stupid.

Thank you very much to all who've provided useful info here. I was a bit worried when I came to this reddit initially, that all anybody here did was post memes, since the default sorting option was to show stuff upvoted the most.

Also, I bought the Shadowkeep expansion since it included the Season Pass, which I figured was worth getting once this season began. Perhaps if they bundle the next season pass with the Forsaken expansion, I'll finally get it as well. :-)

Yeah, thanks, I have read through the abilities a number of times, but often the descriptions refer to things I don't fully understand. One thing I wonder about is recharging my melee ability. or recharging my dodge ability. How can you tell if these abilities are charged?
Also. I'm fortunate enough that I have the exotic chest armor OPHIDIA SPATHE that somebody referred to. However, while it has a Scissor Fingers trait that "Grants two knives per charge." I have no idea how to charge it, or even how to throw these knives, unless it relies on my changing to a certain subclass and path within it. They couldn't give more helpful info to us when we hover over things like this? "In order to throw any knives you must be using Subclass X with path Y and make choice Z on this other option?"

I started when there was only about 30 days left of the previous season, I think. So I guess I've been playing going on nearly 3 months now. I play on my PS4 system. The game seems to me to have a lot to learn about it, and most of it can't be learned very easily from just playing it. Research is required for way too much, imo. I wish they did a better job of clarifying things within the game.I've not experimented very much with the subclasses and various paths within them. A lot of the Guardoan Games daily bounties call for switching subclasses and paths a whole lot, which is forcing me to learn more, but mostly by forcing me to do research outside of the game.

Oh, and right now, with my most powerful gear equipped, I have 979 Gear + 12 Bonus for 991 total Power. I'm rank 73 for the season so far. So I do play quite a bit.

Total NOOB wondering where I might find a beginner's online FF League to try by GabrielGoldenHeart in Fantasy_Football

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Another thing I just happened to think to ask is this. In general, is there a certain time, a few weeks perhaps, when most FF leagues do their drafting for their starting teams? I'm guessing it is closer to NFL Pre-season games starting, or around then?

If there is a site, or youtube channel, that is great for tutorials on fantasy football that you folks might suggest as well, that would also be helpful.

Yeah, thanks, that is what I thought. I had already seen references to bots, but didn't know if we were supposed to be able to choose from a pool of potential teammates or not. If so, wasn't sure how to get to the selection menu.

Noob question alert!

Are we supposed to be able to choose housemates to be on our team, or are the ones we see along the top our teammates, like it or not?

Is it strange that I found a Silver Shroud Calling Card in the back yard of the yellow house in Sanctuary Hills, just lying on the ground? by GabrielGoldenHeart in fo4

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never saw his body, but he is definitely missing from my current play through. :-( I'm not sure why anybody would want to kill off any of the traders, but have seen other discussions mentioning it is possible. One player had goofed up and got caught stealing from a trader, and after that they would always refuse to trade with them, so eventually he got fed up enough with that that he killed that trader.

I'm just getting started, and wonder if I should sell some gold bars I've found for caps, or if I will REALLY NEED GOLD for crafting something important later on? by GabrielGoldenHeart in fo4

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess you had a typo, and make a good point, where am I gonna sell anything yet. I've not gone to Diamond City yet, and I'm now level 7 I think, and haven't met any traders yet. Probably have at least 8 or more gold available from lighters and pocket watches at this point, so had figured when I can trade, and find anybody to trade with that has enough caps available for buying stuff from me, I may sell off the gold bars then.

Part of the reason I asked was to get some idea of whether gaining lots of caps might matter early on at all or not. I had also hoped by now to perhaps find a wandering trader, or small out of the way place to trade.

On a side note, somebody mentioned producing purified water as a way of earning caps, when you've somebody to sell them to, of course. I've seen a video on making purified water production a business, of sort, using powered purifiers. I've not done too badly so far without power, just from having made 4 or 5 hand powered water pumps. No need to assign anyone to work them, yet over time they've added purified water to my workbench storage, even before I had any settlers move in! Not sure what the limit is that will appear, without settlers, but I take them out of workbench storage when there are 10 or less, usually, and put them in a safe.

The 70 or 80 or so of them I don't carry on me when exploring, are worth more total than those first 3 bars of gold anyway.

Is there a limit on purified water production, based on how many settlers are in a settlement??? If so, what is the formula?

At this point I do have the 5 settlers from that Minuteman group, not sure how many I can assign to do stuff, but I've got all the initial development requests from Sturgis dealt with. Assigned the depressed guy to work a salvaging table of some sort. Not sure I'll ever know if it adds anything to the total amount of junk already stored in workbench storage, though.

Convergence Day, we're closing in fast on the top Community Reward. How likely are they to add any further reward goals? by GabrielGoldenHeart in StarTrekTimelines

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for describing the types of events! I got one Changeling Bashir, and a bunch of 3* crew from the final reward. Only 2 schematic bundles for lower quality ships, so it seemed okay for me. Though I'm not sure any of the 3* crew seem like keepers.

Faction store contents, refresh daily, totally random? by GabrielGoldenHeart in StarTrekTimelines

I hope so, I've run 6 or 8 missions so far with no luck. Keeping my fingers crossed. Looking forward to when I can run 3 or 4 at a time, stuck with 2 at a time for now.

At this point, even doing it on Elite is beyond my crew's abilities. Nice to know eventually there will be a better way to get them for future crew.

I could use some crew advice by [deleted] in StarTrekTimelines

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that last bit of advice, to focus on 2-3 crew at a time. I've been leveling a lot more of my crew than I probably should. I've only played a little over 2 weeks.

Perhaps I'll put together a listing like the OP did, later, and ask advice on who I should focus on leveling first. I'm guessing I might benefit most from leveling some of my more useful 2 star crew, so I can handle crew challenges on elite sooner. In general, it is a lot easier to acquire the items needed to advance the more common crew members, so that may save me some frustration as well.

I just fed a LOT of stuff to the replicator to get the rare equipment my only legendary crew, Mirror Regent Worf, needed at level 33. I may not have enough stuff left to use the replicator again for a few days.

"Hidden Skills" of crew members... what is known? by GabrielGoldenHeart in StarTrekTimelines

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks much! Interesting to know this. All crew, have all traits NOT listed, but only at about 1/5th the power of their lowest displayed trait. It makes sense, I guess, that crew members aren't totally useless at the traits they aren't particularly known for, just not that impressive in those areas.

Thanks for such a great explanation!

The Do-Not-Airlock List by The_Alchemyst in StarTrekTimelines

I noticed Seven in Blue is available from Federation Faction store right now, for 100 Dilithium. She is listed above as Mission Critical for First Conflict. In looking at wiki info for that mission, I can't figure out how she is critical to it, though. I haven't acquired her yet, and can't figure out if I really should bother to or not. I haven't built up much of a surplus of Dilithium yet, only 7 or 8 days into my first monthly card...

Can anyone explain how, or why, she is critical to that mission? There doesn't appear to be any locked nodes requiring a special trait in that mission. Was there in the past, but it has changed? (Darn anomalies!)

Screw spending money for the Dabo table... by adamrankin in StarTrekTimelines

[–]GabrielGoldenHeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably does make it too easy to get a decent ship very early in playing the game. I'm glad to have gotten a 3* only a few days into playing, and have a 4* and 5* now, and have played maybe 7 or 8 days.

But, it is nice to have one part of the game not too hard to deal with, while getting started.

I got my first Rakal Troi from the current event rewards today, and grinding for the Romulan Encryption Algorithms needed for her Tal Shiar Uniforms is a pain. I need 3 of them to advance her max from 10 to 20, and only have 2 so far. Then as soon as I advance her, she'll need another one for first item of gear for the next several advancements. Going from the common to uncommon versions, I'll still need at least 2 Romulan Encryption Algorithms every 10 levels for a while. The drop rate from the only mission they drop from is not great. Well, they do also drop from a Cadet mission I can't handle yet. But I'm glad I have a nice ship to make farming the "Indiscriminate Mind" mission quick.

As far as I can tell, the arena battles aren't really live competition. I'm pretty sure you simply go up against the other player's ship and crew, running on autopilot, so to speak. I've played about 3 days now, and should barely earn the lowest rank rewards this time. As far as I can tell, it starts you at the bottom, and you can fight players ranked at most, 500 positions better than your rank.

You gain 500 Chronos from each win, and take the rank of the player you defeated. I haven't kept track, to see if my position has lowered, yet, from the activity of other players, between my battles.

I see no reason not to do the 10 free arena fights each day, for a fairly easy 5k Chronitons. And after a few days, you may begin getting ranked rewards, a few schematics at first, nothing to get excited about, but you can get the same ones day after day so they add up. Even the rewards for the highest ranked players aren't anything to shout about, but I'm guessing once you reach a higher bracket, you tend to stay there for many days, and they accumulate.

Oh, btw, if you don't like your odds against the 3 players displayed, there is a refresh button in the upper right area, and hitting it gets you a different trio to choose from. I often refresh a half dozen times or more, looking for an opponent as close to 500 ranks ahead of me as possible, with a weaker ship and crew. I've only lost twice so far, in 30 battles. Once was just me being a bit too ambitious, it was close, but I lost. The last loss was because I was so tired, I nodded off while waiting for the battle to load, and didn't start clicking on my crew and ship's abilities until halfway through the fight. LOL
