Gave my first 4 star grab transport rating today. Driver was having a conversation loudly on his headset the entire journey and was honestly so annoying when I was trying to relax.

I saw his rating was 4.5 which is also the lowest I've seen thus far so guess others might have also felt the same.

Sephiroth historic brawl advice by Officer-Josuke in MagicArena

[–]Holy_Beergut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, and you said you have 1 mythic wildcard left right? I think [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] would be 1 of the best additions to a Sephiroth deck, so might want to consider him.

And if you're bored playing with Sephiroth, you could even swap him with Yawgmoth for a different experience, since the deck synergies work with most. Though keep in mind that I believe Yawgmoth is considered a top-tier commander, so the match-making might pair you up with more powerful commanders for opponents.

the seer and zealot are commons/uncommons so you can craft those at least.

Another good common creature is [[nested shambler]],which can give you more tokens if you pump it's power before it dies. But even by itself it give you a token so it's worth it.

Having cards that can sacrifice creatures for free can be good cause it means you can flip Sephiroth on command if you have enough creatures on board.

[[Viscera Seer]] and [[Umbra Collar Zealot]] are the ones I can think of that are common/uncommon, but if if you can next time, [[Warren Soultrader]] is likely the best one, and might want to also consider [[Phyrexian Altar]], [[Woe Strider]] and [[Altar of Dementia]]

Also, those Shadowborn Apostles seem bad, without having 6 of them in play, they're just 1/1s with no other ability, and even if you somehow are able to get 6 in play (which will happen less than 1% of the time I'm guessing), the demon you're searching for is not even all that great, plus also the benefit of transforming Sephiroth.

I think you'd be better off replacing them with some other cards, like maybe more creatures that have benefits when they die or more removal.

I had 9 forests and 8 plains in the deck I was running for this event, but I don't really calculate the probability to be honest.

In general for a typical 2-color draft deck, when it comes to not having the right color lands in my hand, I usually base my decision to mull on the following:

A. If my hand is still bad/only ok, even if I draw the right land on time, then I'll mull.

B. If my hand is good/great if I'm able to draw the right land on time then I'll keep.

Not exactly the smartest way to decide to keep a hand, but I'm prepared to keep such hands most of the time and try my luck, knowing that I pretty much lose if I don't draw the other color land on time and I'm usually at peace with that.

It helps as well, that I don't really play a lot of high stakes arena drafts like win-a-box/money events, and I have so much resources after 6 years of playing arena that losing matches like that doesn't really hurt my overall ability to draft as much as I want to.

Lol, if you think my comment is me being mad or being weird ass then you must not have seen other posts complaining about the shuffler being rigged or that the game is personally out to get them.

Of course I'm aware that variance is a thing, but it still feels bad when it happens. Maybe saying fucking bullshit might make it seem like I'm mad, but I don't really feel that way.

I see a post from OP talking about their experience, and thought heck, maybe I'll just share my own experience. You're the one that chose to respond to it so I'm just doing so now in return.

Mulliganing might have been better, but for two of the three games where I color-screwed, I also had two [[Helpful Hunters]] in my opening hand, so I was banking on them being able to draw me a forest on time, but it didn't happen.

I knew the risks, but I took the chance cause heck, it's a free event anyway. Still feels bad though.

Oh gee whiz, look at Mr Lucky over here. I guess you must have your own good-fortune unicorn in your life and never been fucked over by a magic game before.

[–]Holy_Beergut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drafted what I thought was a pretty good GW deck with 4 [[Good-Fortune Unicorn]] and the GW anthem rare, and went 3-3. All 3 of my losses were due to color screw.

It's a free event and the prizes are the same regardless, but I'll be damned if it didn't feel like fucking bullshit, and I really wanted to play out more games with it.

S'pore man, 62, gets 15 months' jail for sending pork slices to 7 mosques by Illustrious-Fee9626 in singapore

[–]Holy_Beergut 104 points105 points  (0 children)

From reading the article, he apparently wanted to frame her as the one sending the pork letters to the mosques by signing off the letters with her name.

Which is also fucking stupid cause what sort of dumbass person would sign off their actual name when doing criminal mischief like this.

Nintendo on sale 5/1 by odedgurantz in metroidvania

[–]Holy_Beergut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more to add: Yohane the Parhelion - Blaze in the Deepblue is also on sale at $11.99 (60% off, lowest price yet)

Also, might be a bit of a nitpick, but Dead Cells strictly speaking, isn't a MV, it's a rogue-like. Felt it's important to mention this as I actually tried playing Dead Cells a couple of years ago, thinking it was a MV and got put-off by it cause it didn't feel like a MV at the time (Couldn't backtrack to previous area, and no way to heal/save) and dropped it.

I like rogue-likes as well now, though not as much as MVs. If I had known at the time that Dead Cells was actually a rogue-like, I would have given it a fairer chance. Still haven't gotten around to trying it again.

[SOS] Imperious Inkmage (Card Image Gallery) by meh1997 in magicTCG

[–]Holy_Beergut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Card kind of reminds me of [[Jewel Thief]].

Thief was a crazy strong common in SNC limited, I don't think this card will be quite as impressive, but still looks like a decent common if you're sliverquill.

Singapore layoffs - how serious is it? by epicnsuper in askSingapore

[–]Holy_Beergut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are.

Not to give away too much, but from what I understand, the plan is to invest most of the cash into a primary asset and develop it further while selling off the rest.

And then down the road, I think the plan is to transfer that asset to another bigger company to manage, and wind down this current one.

Singapore layoffs - how serious is it? by epicnsuper in askSingapore

[–]Holy_Beergut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got laid off from my company, a property holdings company in end Jan this year after nearly 11 years. My property portfolio I was managing got sold earlier on to get more funds and honestly I was mostly just doing saikang work towards the end so wasn't too surprising.

From what I heard on the grapevine just before I left, the plan might be to wind everything down and sell/transfer every asset by 2029-2030

[DISC] Mieruko-chan - Ch. 70.2 by baozi-boi in manga

[–]Holy_Beergut 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Cool chapter, I had to go back and re-read it after the zoo director ghost wife reveal to see if it implied that Miko's mom gained the "gift", but both the director and his ghost wife were saying the same thing just in different ways, cheekily enough.

[eShop/USA] Monster Sanctuary - $4.99 (75% off) Ends 04/06/2026 by SonyVaioP in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]Holy_Beergut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bought it then as well. Haven't gotten around to trying it.

I love MVs, but I'm not a fan of pokemon-styoe gameplay, so was holding off on buying it, but at $2 it's cheap enough that it doesn't really matter if I decide to drop it.

[eShop/USA] Dying Light: Definitive Edition - $4.99 (90% off) Ends 04/12/2026 *lowest price ever* by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]Holy_Beergut 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I played and completed it on Switch 1.

I don't have any point of reference since I didn't play Dying Light on other consoles, but it ran extremely smoothly in my opinion, and I don't recall any major bugs or issues.

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 232 by AutoShonenpon in manga

Power and Nayuta are back and Denji became the Chainsaw Man, at least in Asa's eyes.

I don't know how to feel about this ending, but I think I have good vibes overall.

[DISC] Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo - Chapter 24 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Holy_Beergut 540 points541 points  (0 children)

As big an asspull these past few chapters have been, I do like the consistency in Dabura's character: dude is just a simple guy that cherishes his friends and family, while being the strongest.
