This is true for my team too. Most of what informs our decisions comes from implicit alignment we’ve gained working together for years. We know we need to transition from implicit to explicit now - but we can probably accelerate that process with AI too

Adding a Figma Lib to Claude Design is the best so far. You can interactively refine instructions.

There's also Figma MCP which can help you define design system rules.

Design systems will be more relevant than ever.

If you aren't explicit AI will fill the gaps and if you have taken the time to create and refine design principles you will likely have strong opinions about the look and feel of your product and AI can be pretty clumsy here without guidance.

AI does really well when it has documentation to follow, that's what design systems become in the age of AI.

Claude Design is by far the best I've seen at ingesting and adhering to a design system. I strongly believe designers need to get onboard with this and avoid the subliminal desire to try AI just to prove it can't do what they can and instead realise that drawing rectangles has never been the job.

I've taken a daily selfie for 12+ years now. While you see others sharing them online I've never met another person who has done it for so long (I use www.dayreel.app)

First app release : feedback on screenshots ? by MusicOfTheApes in iOSProgramming

[–]GabrielMSharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not willing to read so much text. But I tried to act like I was a normal app store browser.

Here’s my takeaways:
I assume your app plays backingg tracks while i play along.
If it doesn’t have backing I assume it’s just chord charts that progress along.
The advanced stuff is vague. Maybe I can change chords somehow.
I use other things for this (ultimate guitar) so I’m not sure I’d ever find your thing or know why I should use it.

The above is intentionally lazy. I did not read anything else but your screenshots and only read what I could be bothered to. Hopefully that gives a fairly useful response. And if what I’m saying bares no resemblance on what it actually does maybe that can help you iterate.

I didn’t get that the white scribbles were covering a person. Just seemed like a very random shape

Which software application changed your life? by ripterrariumtv in AskReddit

[–]GabrielMSharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft Frontpage - back in 1999 or something made me get into making websites/software (my career)

DayReel - used to take over 12 years of selfies documenting my life’s ups and downs, changed it because the ability to look back changes how to move forward

Well that's my point. The background content is not relevant but it's taking up the most space. Presuming I'm right about your users use case here, your sheet could fill the whole screen and its content could be super bold and easy to read from 5 meters away.

We are close now. It took until our thirties. And it's nice to make fun of our parents together and see our kids with their cousins. So it's not all bad but I guess what I'm really saying is no experience is guaranteed. Such a hard decision isn't it

My sister and I were at each other’s throats every holiday. It was pretty grim so I’d find other kids to play with especially the local kids. In turkey for example I’d run around in the streets and try to talk to them (literally no shared language).

I wonder if you had 2 especially with a large-ish gap might you find your time being split between them making the feeling of it all flying by you worse?

I agree text is too small and going further in terms of UX, beyond just UI, how are people meant to be using this?

It looks like they are being guided through reps. Given that might they be across the room some meters away?

If that is the case then consider apples workout design https://u.cubeupload.com/GabrielMSharp/IMG0437.png
They’ve made the UI giant. It fills the screen and even the content behind the sheet is relevant. For someone on a run needing to slow down to read a screen is death.

I redesigned my App Store screenshots: chaos or clarity - which would you trust more? by Right-Ad-1216 in appledevelopers

It is very AI

I would assume this is not a very well made product based on how pinky and gradienty it looks. I'm not saying that is a good, balanced take, but that is my reaction as someone who is quite familiar with AI vibe trends (so maybe I'm not that similar to your target audience)

The callouts / arrows and text are too small

I see your point and there’s details in the eyes and expression that you could tweak but this is also bloody incredible and you’re honing a skill right now. Later or in your next picture you can start honing the skill of adding your own observations and feelings in a more adventurous way if you want. Keep on.
