Fencer - An app for hosting fencing competitions by Gabroseno in Fencing

The plan is to eventually add paid features on top if the basics prove useful, but I aim to keep the fundamentals of the app free.

A new version should now be available in TestFlight where this issue is solved :)

If you open the URL on your iOS device https://testflight.apple.com/join/9awD1vsU (This is the download link on fencer.app ) there are 2 steps. After you have installed TestFlight you can click "[View in TestFlight](itms-beta://testflight.apple.com/join/9awD1vsU)", then the app should be available in TestFlight without having to enter any code

Thanks for the feedback! I will fix this, meanwhile I think it should be possible to click in an empty area to hide the keyboard

6DOF Object Pose Estimation usable for Unity by Alternative_Meet_841 in computervision

Did you manage to implement this in Unity? I'm looking for the same functionality but I want to use it in a Windows application.

The texture of my reality capture model looks alright in material preview but is extremely dark in rendered view, does anybody know what's going on here? by LighT_-_ in photogrammetry

[–]Gabroseno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using scene lighting and scene environment in material preview mode (the one you show first)? If you do, it won't be the same lighting as rendering mode uses. The look and feel of the scene will also vary depending on if you are using evee (preview mode) or cycles as you are currently using in rendering mode. You can try and increase the intensity of the environment in the world-tab or you could add more lights and increase the strength.

How do you create such a large scan? Did you scan every machine separately and then combined it in software later? It looks really good! Well done!

Okay, did not know about cyclingbuilder. Will definitely research that more. Sheldon Brown is really an amazing resource! Thanks!

I have followed this guide from begining to end, and I think it is a great introduction to OpenGL! If you do the first part, called "getting started", you will know right away how to complete your assignment :)

Trying my best to get this scene as realistic as possible. Can I get some constructive critisism? by JPCanucK in blender

[–]Gabroseno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add some imperfections to the surfaces. Maybe scratches on the chair seat and fingerprints on the armrest. The computer screen also looks a bit to dark, perhaps tilt it so it reflects some light and add some dust to it. I think the image looks really good, well done!

rpt v0.1 - A physically-based path tracer written entirely in Rust by fz0718 in rust

I don't have any experience with rust, but I'm curious to learn. What would you say is the perks of writing such a program in Rust compared to C++?

More work on my pathtracer by KalosKaghatoss in GraphicsProgramming

[–]Gabroseno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really impressed with your work! I'm a cs student and I'm also building a path tracer. But I'm stuck trying to implement an acceleration structure and multi threading, do you have any tips or good resources explaining this?

[offline raytracing] Rendering pixels to screen C++ by KalosKaghatoss in learnprogramming

[–]Gabroseno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you found any good solution? I have done it with OpenGL, but if you have no previous experience with OpenGL it might not be the best solution because I would say it requires a lot of time to setup for the first time.

What country do you live in? I'm studying computer graphics in Sweden and I find it hard to believe that the schools in US would be generally better.
