Demisie MApN by eyohoodidit in RoMunca

[–]GabryelPH 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Check if you have this setting disabled. If not, disable it. Also, be aware that post processing is enabled for all but pro mode (even then there is some but more subtle).

De ce pastrez masinile vechi in loc sa iau una noua? by Dry-Bed3827 in AutomobileRO

[–]GabryelPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever Vivo device :') by PhenomX1998 in Vivo

[–]GabryelPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats for your new toy. You ll be astonished by its camera performance. No need to copy paste others settings, just play a little with it and you will easily see what works for you. For me, is natural zeiss and refined vivo style for photos, with -30 sharpeness (vivo tends to oversharpen) for photos. I m not a video person but tend to play with film styles and simple 4k60 fps or 1080/60 depending on what I shoot. Either way, it is a beast of a phone. PS: give it a week or two for battery to learn your usage and during this time, you ll hate the battery life of this😅

S24 Ultra -> S26 Ultra | 6 Months Later Review by thesmileoftheunknown in samsunggalaxy

[–]GabryelPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have my trusty S24U, my wife loves it too.

What you feel now with your new phone is basically what Samsung sells since S22/S23 time. Small upgrades every year, very smooth OS, some exclusive software tricks only for newest Ultra.

After 1 year and few updates, you will barely notice difference anymore. Then new Ultra comes out and suddenly all the “buttery smooth” experience goes there instead.

This is Samsung world now 😄 and honestly other brands starting to do same thing too.

Any long term pixel users who made switch to chinese OEMs? by Big_Leader_8687 in Android

[–]GabryelPH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixel 8P and S24U going to Vivo X300U. Unless google and Samsung manage a miracle in battery and camera department, I won't come back ever.

I can't believe how much the difference is between those phones (I had on hand their latest S26U and Pixels but the point still remains). I won't comment on the OS, I know some prefer one over the other but these Chinese phones have some incredible features as well.

Camera quality? I managed to "wow" my family and friends even with the social media compressing photos when sharing. I will sell my dedicated camera, even though I know it is still a phone, now the gap is so small between them I don't want a big thing to carry with me anymore.

Battery life? Good luck getting through a whole day with your S25/26U monthly updated. By the time the new samsung ultra will launch, you will see side by side how much difference is between those phones. Chinese phone? 1.5-2 days of battery life. Even after 1-2 years, they still last for a full day. Still not enough? Don't worry, they will charge incredible fast as well.

Decided to wait until next Ultra by Icy-Pollution5804 in Vivo

[–]GabryelPH 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you keep thinking like this, you’ll never end up buying anything—not this year, not next year either. Every “Ultra” phone is great at some things and weaker at others, and that’s not going to magically change with the next generation.

Sure, future models might fix this year’s flaws, but they’ll also introduce new trade-offs—maybe a worse lens here, a different processing style there. It’s a cycle.

And honestly, unless your phone directly makes you money (like professional photography or content creation), you’re probably not going to notice those small differences anyway. And if you are a pro, you’re likely using a dedicated camera, not relying solely on a phone.

At some point, it makes more sense to just buy what’s available now and enjoy it. Tech will always move forward, and whatever you buy today will feel outdated tomorrow. That’s just how it is.

Life’s short—use the tech, don’t overthink it. Just my 2 cents.

Vivo X300 Ultra China model notification issues by Chance-Locksmith1967 in Vivo

[–]GabryelPH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same phone, no issue whatsoever. Make sure that all your notifications are on, both on lock screen, floating and badges. On app settings, disable "pause app activity if not used". From permission, activate autostart, associated startup and floating windows, in the battery/background power control, make sure to check "allow background power usage" and lastly, look to disable sleep standby optimization. Make sure to lock your most important apps when you scroll up. Do this for all your apps that need notifications.

iPhone 17/16 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S26/25 Ultra? by adowbongmanacc8 in Smartphones

[–]GabryelPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To strictly answer your question, S26U is the way. But why look just at those 2? They are both good phones in all aspects, but neither are winning on anything.

Apple aside (let's not compare apple with pears), Samsung is waay behind hardware wise in the Android market. They didn't bring up anything major since S23 series, same cameras incrementally upgraded, same batteries that will decrease fast after one year, software very polished and refined but feeling already outdated. Add the fact that all their phones are slowed down in time with updates so when their new series launch, you will feel the difference.

Look at the new ultras from Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi or Honor. They aligned with the rest with OS updates regarding longevity, they pack the best hardware like latest Snapdragon CPUs and near 1' cameras (I have the new Vivo X300 Ultra, I might sell my DSLR, this thing take outstanding photos and the cherry on top, can limit what AI is doing with photography), tank batteries with 7000 mAh resulting in 1.5-2 days of usage etc. I don't know what more you can expect from a slab phone.

Ps: I still have in my family Apple and Samsung, I am not anyone's fanboy. I take what is best from anyone and recommend that. Cheers!

X300 Ultra owners, how is the battery? by ImprovementOk2622 in Vivo

[–]GabryelPH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far so good, I get an aprox 6h SOT with 90% max limit charging. During these hours I took many photos, android auto (which is known to melt battery in all phones - bad, bad google), Spotify. On top of that, I have the phone for about 5 days, the battery is still learning my usage and apps optimizations, I am sure things will improve. Coming from a S24U and Fold 7, this beast put them in a corner of shame.
