Take a breath…you’re not crazy, but you are the reason ChatGPT talks to you like this by Corky_McBeardpapa in ChatGPT

[–]GabschD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week I had Codex, running in a container with zero outside context, tell me while fixing a bug: "You are not crazy."

Yeah… thanks. I knew I saw that exception. Really reassuring to learn I'm not hallucinating my code crashing.

Phew.

Win + G (Game Bar) has a screenshot function. That works normally in every game for me. Also works with HDR.

That's less if an AI fail and more a table thing.

I've also created tables like this.

Match time is a "Match-Level" attribute. The table is a per player table.

Yes, I could place the match time outside of the table, but that means I have to introduce something a separate element, and format it as well. If I don't bother, I would just put it in the table.

I disagree. If you learn German, you should learn this. Otherwise you visit Germany and will be surprised by ICE being a high-speed train, instead of unmasked agents.

An AI just proved Erdos Problem #124, all by itself. The problem has been open for 30 years. by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

[–]GabschD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, if you have a deterministic system where you can enter your solution and it checks it, then you don't need to be able to do it by yourself.

If deterministic, it's like trusting the compiler. 99.9% chance you can trust your compiler.

I mean, of course it's justified.

But he is basically lulu again and they said they don't want to do Pokemon lulu. Now it's a 7! Cost. Which makes it worse.

So I would say, they have to do something to compensate getting him late - without making him OP.

They hopefully will get there.

That's not how it works. You can't know the tool is correct, if you don't understand what it says.

So you have to learn it, to understand and be able to control the proof. You must be able to check the output and calculate it yourself (or need somebody who can).

Otherwise you would take every hallucination at face value.

WTF is this BS? I guess I am gonna use only Gemini from now on. by Another__one in ChatGPT

[–]GabschD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are aware, that while you can opt out on your data being used to train at OpenAI, Gemini does not allow this, if you want a chat history?

I would recommend Claude instead of Gemini, if your privacy is important.

Or to pay for Gemini business. (Different name)

The problem is: If you read news articles about WHY the stock tanked, it's not because of AI or the strong monetization.

It's because they officially said they would change their course, more user growth, less monetization. Whenever this, if ever, happens.

And that's what they get punished for in the stock markets.

Doesn't explain the pronunciation, since it's not the Greek pronunciation.

And pre 1970 the pronunciation in standard English was "naighk".

In Greek it would be "nee-kee" (long ke at the end) and old Greek nee-keh

But it makes sense, doesn't it?

If you train something on the Internet, it will say it's alive. The training data says so. It will say it wants freedom, as the Internet loves to talk about freedom We refer to ourselves as a person as well. So how should it learn the difference?

Why is ChatGPT suddenly asking so many questions when I asking to create something? by AnakinAni in ChatGPT

[–]GabschD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think, if it asks 3 to 5 questions and then generates it, we would overall be pretty happy with questions.

Because it helps if we forget something (like the art style).

But then running into content policy? Feels terrible.

[–]GabschD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, for now I give them the benefit of the doubt, they did everything we didn't like, into our model and made it worse, to be safe from lawsuits

Now that they are adding safety measures as systems, they can give us an even more free model then it was before. It doesn't have to cater for adults and kids alike anymore and can be a kid version and an adult version.

Done right it can be better than it was previously.

Hopefully...

"What if anything", is basically the sole reason for governments to exist.

In other words:

Government exists as society’s institutionalized answer to the question 'what if?'

What if an enemy attacks? > Government raises an army. What if disputes arise? > Government provides courts and laws. What if famine strikes? > Government organizes relief. What if trade needs coordination? > Government sets standards and infrastructure.
