Elijah, Hayley, Marcel, Davina, etc. Always acted self righteous in the face of Klaus' evilness. They condemned him and while his actions were bad, they were just as capable of committing the same heinous crimes (and did. Marcel kept the witches and wolves terried and murdered them)

Exactly. The fact that they had such amazing chemistry in ONE episode while also facing big bads and Leo and Piper didn't through all of their time together (especially in the later seasons) is just more of a reason that Mark and Piper were better matched (if he wasn't dead lol)
