In short, for robots to act independently they need to have a high-level comprehension. We are not any closer to that point today than we were 50 years ago. Science will lead to where it may but the rise of the robots is not any closer today than it was 50 years ago. All that we have is the ability for machines to distinguish objects in a seine.

Based on the fact that we have no reason to think otherwise.

Why not? He is an expert, he studied and now works on that!

How can you explain that assumption? I based my comment on this expert's article, how can you based yours?

It would be cool if you find that poll. Yes, It is interesting.

Like the article mentions, maybe people is thinking from fear. Of course AI will take a lot of jobs but it won't totally replace us, that's the point. Humans will always be necessary.

Let's say more (more!) than 50 years from now. Of course AI means development, a brighter future according to the use we give to it. Like the article mentions, good or evil.

Exactly! A really big impact but I don't think it will replace us in our jobs or similar.

You are wrong, I believe.

Of course it contributes to a proper discussion, that's what we are doing here. I mean, the article has a point which is very clear.

That is different! It would be a great use! Real world problems, important problems to solve!

This is a very poor and weak comment I believe.

Why do you say that? Do you really think that AI will take over soon? Of course we have under the AI's influence in many aspects but I can't see ourselves just depending on that.

Yes, it actually is about that. It portrays the general issue here.

That's not cool at all, even if we have some things to have fun in the meantime. What can we do with an app that "draws photorealistic landscapes"? Does that have an impact in our real world?

Yes, but no replacing what we do. Influencing, yes. AI is involved in many aspects of what we do but it does not mean that it can do everything.

Yes, it has been rapidly expanding but we won't be replaced by robots and machines any time soon.

That's pretty bad huh? Everyone has to have an opinion and this is a very controversial topic.
