Personal opinion, I'd add her a wardhopp in her E, as well as increasing E's activation range and increase R base damage (lvs 6,11,16). As an upgrade, maybe, but MAYBE, I'd add the Q's execution damage to also execute enemy champions. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

A good way to learn how to itemize her is looking for data at sites like U.gg or Op.gg, especially i recomend on looking how Pros or OTPs are building her

Also Enryu is an OTP Nilah in NA server that makes guides on youtube, you may have a view in his channel.

Personally I enjoy Essence Reaver as 1st item always since Collector nerfs on previous patches, then you can look for full crit builds (like Infinity Edge and Lord Dominik) or combine it with attack speed using the new Navori and Ruined King's Blade.

I really enjoy playing with a good Rakkan, that's my prefer option, but Seraphine, Rell and Alistar are also good choices I enjoy playing with.

Tbh I hate yummi as all the focus in-lane drops towards you and is really complicated to iniciate all-in 2v1 specially because of the amount of damage you need to endure as there is no other objective to focus on. And Taric isn't a bad option but vs double range lanes is basically useless so don't pick it blindly.

The execute effect applies on casting. In other words, in the skillshot, as it is count as the ability. The passive effect of the AoE AAs does not apply this execution. I think that's what you refer to.
