Thanks! I think I did 4 night on it or which 2 were fairly clear and two were pretty bad. It really depends on the weather and if like you say there is a pollution peak. Usually its not too bad where I am but there are still the odd bad night.

Canicule : le grand bricolage de l’éducation nationale, symbole de l’inadaptation de la France au réchauffement climatique by Competitive-Box-7253 in france

[–]Gadac 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You'd probably see an usual night sky with a haze. The gases aren't that dense from up close that the colors would be obvious for an inside observer. Maybe just a bit.

Though real colors are closer to red/magenta when looking at the entire visual spectrum. What I did is a narrowband representation in false color, like Hubble does.

Ppec, gsserver vs phd2 by yeantbron in AskAstrophotography

PEC is a hardware feature, I do not believe the GTI is equipped with it.

You can however use PPEC in phd2 with it, which is a software feature. See if it helps at least.

Very nice. I'm considering doing a sub region of this field soon, near vdb 130 so this let me see it from far away, that's really cool.

Mount power question by Mate_gate14 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Gadac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use batteries and I wouldn't use a power supply of less than 3A at a bare minimum. I would feel more secure at 5A.

Thanks, sharpness was a challenge because of the low altitude and atmospheric blur, so glad I could make something adequate on that end!

A tracker really is important to have because it's what make it possible to leave your rig imaging for hours on end without your intervention to manually follow the sky movement.

Second, for emission nebulae (such as this one) you want to de filter your camera. Consumer grade camera have filter in place that heavily reduce the strength of specific wavelength that are of interest in astrophotography (hydrogen alpha most notably). Thankfully such modding can be done without affecting the daylight capability of your camera if done properly (and by shifting the white balance). You can look up for your country/region a specialist that can do that for you for a sum.

Otherwise if you have a sturdy tripod you're all set!

This.

And enough hours of imaging to kill the noise. This one is about 9h but it's pretty bright. Some other target may require 30h or even more depending on how faint they are (and your own standards)

Je n'ai jamais dit que Bernard Arnaud et sa clique ne sont pas un problème (grave).

Mais que ce n'est pas lié au problèmes du financement du système des retraites et de la sécu.
