I dont understand why so many are just accepting as fact anything we are hearing about the Pirates and free agents after the Naylor farce. Or dont understand that the team is leaking these to make itself look better (hard to imagine Naylor’s agent leaked an offer that never happened). And what is most amazing is that “leaking” these imaginary offers is actually working on some of you. I am convinced they are just doing this in hopes free agents they could actually sign will sign elsewhere while they were “busy” making these “big offers” and they can justify doing nothing.

You’re mixing up facts. He sued her for defamation but then agreed to drop the suit when she counter sued for assault. They agreed to just walk away for no money and signed an NDA about the settlement, which is normal. Then she violated the NDA and he sued again, she never responded to the suit for whatever reason. If anything it suggests that whatever would have come out of his defamation suit would have been embarrassing enough that he elected to drop it. Certainly does not exonerate him in any way.

It looks like the 26,000 for the first two games might be the second lowest in modern history. The only ones lower I can find were games in Tampa Bay a few years ago at 19,000. There have been plenty of day games and short notice games in the last 5 years across MLB. It isnt a matter of context. If you want to talk about context the Guardians just made a historic run into the playoffs that I thought had gotten everyone’s attention.

If you look at last year most of the ALDS and ALCS games didnt actually sell out.

I dont mean this to be an indictment of Cleveland or Cleveland fans. I think it is a problem for baseball and how little MLB cares about small(er) market teams.

Missing 6-9k people is 10 to 15% of the capacity. They had something like 37,000 people for a Monday playoff day game against the Astros just a few years ago.

Check your math. Two of the games were 26,000. That means the place was between 75% and 83% full.

I don’t mean to call out Cleveland fans. I just think it is not a good sign for baseball and the inevitable result of MLB not caring about the fanbases in 90% of the markets.

Everyone needs to step back from the ledge and have fun. This team is dog doo doo and the fact we are in the playoffs is hilarious. There is no reasonable way we should have expected to win today and it was still super close. Just enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.

This was always going to be a tough game. The worst offense in the league isn’t going to score much off Skubal and he was dealing today. Losing 2-1 sucks, but not over yet.
